You have a hamster and you name it Simon

You go snowboarding down a hill and shout: "i'm a leaf on the wind". (the your friends speeds past you saying: "watch how i soar")

You're in your car and when you go on the highway during rush hour you say: "I'm a leaf on the wind"

Dinosaurs sit on your dashboard

you wear your Jayne hat just to see if anyone's a closet browncoat.

...The most romantic gift you got from your boyfriend (hey, I'm a girl) was "Joss Whedon: The Master at Play" (a wonderful interview w/ intro by Nathan Fillion))
....that your boyfriend tollerated this behaviour (mostly because it's HIS FF DVDs you have and he can get them back for the price of an arm...nicely)
...I have new and improved swear words to use on the line in the middle of Friday and Saturday night rushes (I'm a chef..we get a little busy and a little stressed, but no need for undue fussin)
...The best thing about a recent SuperBowl party was spending the game talking about FF&Serenity and NOT watching the game
That's all I got for now.

...you've been feeling a bit depressed and irratable lately, then you realize it's because you havn't watched Firefly all week. one viewing of "out of Gas" first thing in the morning cures all!

...You havn't used your computer for anything non-firefly related in weeks.

...the names Malcom, River, Simon, Kaylee, Jayne, and Zoe keep popping up in your timed writes in Spanish class.

...while watching Toy Story in Spanish during Spanish class, once you recover from the realization Joss Wheadon helped write it (I didn't know that!) you spend the rest of the period thinking "wait...cowboy...spaceman...HEY!"

...your parents common responce to too much information is "I can't know these things"

Oh, heck yeah. I used to be a Mystery Science Theater 3000 kind of movie-goer, though I kept my voice down to only annoy the friends I went with...but no more! Silence from THIS Peanut Gallery these days!

You're a Browncoat if:

...you've managed to work at least one quote from every single episode and the BDM into normal conversation.

...you now call bad drivers "hwoon-don"s instead of all the creative English curses you're used to.

...you ask a friend to wave you instead of calling.

...you say you'd rather be chased by a Reaver than *insert appropriate heinous activity here*.

...you debate on painting the Serenity symbol on your car somewhere...and only haven't done so because you can't find the right colors in automobile touch-up paint.

...you now buy bars with "fruity and oaty" in them so you can sing the song and tell people that eating fruity oaty bars is NOT MANDATORY, even when they have no idea what your talking about.

...you friends now accept the phrases they don't understand, to be from Firefly or Serenity.

...your friend which you pretty much made watch Serenity confessed that they had more fun watching you watch the movie (sad in so many ways).

...you start each day by saying "I aim to misbehave."

...you point and whisper your friend's sister's name which is indeed 'Miranda.' (she of course is understandably a mite worried.)

...everything that you say, or do, or hear, or see relates in one way or another back to Firefly or Serenity.

...when you have to do something you don't want to (i.e. sit through annoyingly long and boring school assemblies) you look at your friend, make like your going to shoot yourself in the brainpan, and she understands.

...you then proceed to play Firefly pictionary on a scrap paper during the assembly. (i'll post pics if interested.)

...you get mighty offended when/if people say bad things about either Firefly or Serenity.

...you stop hanging out with those people.

...you spend forever looking for an affordable brown coat, even though you live in Arizona. (And although it's winter, it's still 80 degrees with no rain for like 150 days)

...you feel depressed when you still can't find one.

...you begged your friend with a car to drive you to Hot Topic so you could get a Serenity shirt, later granting him immunity for his most appreciated feat.

...you spend more than an hour in a fabric store searching for the perfect materials to sew on to your Serenity Bag. (got an idea from someone else who made one on here.)

Ok, that's all I can think of at the moment.

This is fun!

Most of your responses to things are from the 'verse. It's pretty common in our household to hear "Your mouth is talking...might want to look into that.."

"Shiney!" has replaced "cool"

You're watching your old "Andromeda" dvds, and start talking about the Roddenberrys, and your husband says "Yeah, they're ok, but they're certainly no Joss Wheedon"

When traveling, Jayne's song and the Ballad of Serenity replace 100 bottles of beer on the wall...

Your teenages sons are upset that there are no registered companions in their 'verse...yet....

You refuse to watch anything on FOX because of their sudden yet inevitable betrayal..

Your copies of Serenity and Firefly belong on top of the tv, instead of on the shelves with the rest of your movies.

That's all I can think of now..

-Your friends tease you beacuse you not only dress like your favorite character, but act like them too.

...not that that's ever happened to me.

NERVOUSPETE

You walk into a bar and start talking about Firefly and Serenity. People look at you blankly. Confused and alarmed that people in this world could possibly be unaware of classic TV/Film sci-fi, you grab people by the lapels and scream in their faces such pertinent questions as,

"WHAT YEAR IS THIS?!?"

"WHERE AM I?!?"

"WHO IS THE PRESIDENT?!?"

And then you run outside screaming, perhaps to find the Statue of Liberty that you can fall to your knees in front of, mourning the happy fantasy-land of 'everybody loves Firefly' that for a short giddy time you believed you lived in.

While pounding your fists and shouting, "Damn you, Fox! You maniacs! You finally did it! You cancelled her! You cancelled her all to hell! Damn you! You murderers!"

And so on.

*Ahem*

You mean it hasn't happend to you, yet?

"If you can keep your head whilst others... eurgh! Ack! I've spilt my ink! Ugh! Ink on my trousers! Agh! Ink on my shirt! My only hope! The window! Aieeeeee!" (Falls to death)

You fight for your right to party, even though the odds are grim and you know you may not live.

AFTERGLOW

..Your Sweetheart comes to pick you up from work and give you a ride home and informs you that you owe him a few bucks for the copy of HIS DVD copy of Firefly you borrowed (well, usurped is more like it) because he knew he couldn't un-glue his girlfriend from the series. (He just wants them for "archival" DVDs in his library....It was his fault I became a Browncoat (as I've posted earlier)}
Well, it's completely worth it as I am trading a neighborhood bartender who has disc 2 for disc 3 tomorrow.
Mwahhhha!! He is so hooked now!!
And no, no free drinks...YET....

MALACHITE

You don't even watch TV, but you buy an Infocus projector so that you can host Firefly/Serenity movie nights...

You go to your first sci-fi convention (500 miles away) just to meet Summer. (Alan was icing on the cake...)

After going to said convention, you're inspired to write a song (entitled, "Firefly", of course), which band members say is your best one yet.

Oh, and I totally relate to whoever said they keep their Firefly/Serenity discs on top of the TV instead of tucked away with the other movies... There's just something comforting about having them in plain sight...

You buy juggling geese from washosaurus.com and proudly juggle them for anyone who comes over...

Actually, I'm guilty of most of what you guys have been saying. It is good to be among people who understand...
