Does anyone know if there are plans to release the Firefly DVD boxset in region 2 (UK) or region 4 (Australia)? I've not been very impressed with the picture quality of FOX TV on DVD North American NTSC releases, so I'd really like to have Firefly in PAL format.

Thanks!

Firefly is definitely going to be released on DVD in the UK. If you search the BBFC website ( www.bbfc.co.uk), all of the special features, including the commentary tracks, have been given ratings. Presumably the episodes themselves have been submitted but not rated yet. In any case, there will definitely be a UK release of Firefly at some point fairly soon.

And a bunch of the episodes have now been rated in the UK - they're on the BBFC website. Serenity, Out of Gas, The Message, Objects In Space, War Stories and The Train Job are all 12, while Shindig is PG. This pretty much surprises me, as Buffy and Angel episodes have often been given (in my opinion, ridiculous) 15 ratings and by the BBFC's standards I would have thought that War Stories is a 15. Just hope that they don't think to translate any of the Chinese...

Those aren't the episodes themselves that have been rated, they're the commentary versions of the episodes that have commentary tracks. You can see this if you click the episode titles - all of them say "DVD audio commentary" above the rest of the information.
