And so, having hit the 'Print' button for my fifth and final draft of my senior thesis, gnawed my nails to the quick, gone running, organized all my books in alphabetical order according to author, cleaned my room from top to bottom for the first time since I moved in, cooked a four course meal, shivered in the fetal position, read all my favorite fanfiction in Blue Sun Room, organized all my books in alphabetical order according to title, taken up smoking, read all my favorite fanfiction again, worn a hole in the rug pacing and doing just about everything under the sun except, oh, start to study . . .I find myself on the boards.

Anyone else starting finals soon or in the midst of that last great cram session before summer/graduation?

Any coping (procrastinating) methods? I figure I'll start a Firefly marathon and watch the whole series. That'll take my mind off those annoying tests . . .

I am right in the middle of my final exams. Well, nearing the end I suppose. I took two yesterday so I'm nearly done. I've actually been pretty good about not procrastinating this year. I did every year of high school but not this time! I'm basically just trying to get through them and do the best I can. I will then reward myself with a Firefly marathon in the coming week Good luck to you though and anyone else out there in the same predicament!

*sigh* Finals are in the works for me and I'm starting to get leaky in the brainpan from all the madness. Sadly, I've seen no Firefly or played Serenity RPG in weeks and the withdrawl is killing me. Only 6 days left. Good luck everyone else on finals! I shall reappear back into the 'verse once school's over.

I fully sympathise! I was studying for exams this time last year! All I can say is that the fnal few hours crap are pure gold! Don't let anyone tell you to revise in a sensible way with timetables and strictly regulated rest periods. No. Leave it all to the night before and let the adrenaline high fuse the information to the inside of your skull in a bright flash that lasts (hopefully) just as long as the end of the exam then fades forever!!

Now, can someone give me advice on finishing my thesis? I've got only a few weeks to go and 15000 words to write on "The establishment of a translocated population of Grass Snakes (Natrix natrix) to the London Wetland Centre and the impacts on existing herpetofauna"!!
How many have I written today? Zero!

Oh man, I feel you on that. My advice is to cut yourself off from the net, lock yourself in small room with no distractions and just type madly for an hour. Then break. Type for an hour. Break. And so on and so forth for three days straight.

The writing will suck, but it'll be on the page - it's that first draft that's the hardest part. Revision is a snap.

Best of luck!

Though it can be fun. My last day of class is tomorrow and then I have finals. I'm supposed to graduate, but I decided to spend a 5th year to finish a 2nd major. I'm kind of starting to panic because I haven't done ANYTHING to study yet and I work tonight, tomorrow, friday, and then 40 hours during finals week!

I'm going to make a checklist: Vietnamese homework, Vietnamese final project, History reading, History final paper, Biochemistry, and Abnormal Psychology. It's a lot, but caffeine should get me through it. AND my last 2 finals are on my birthday! Can you say PARTAY?!?!?!?!

Besides, it can't be as bad as last year when I ended up in the emergency room and still had to take 2 finals the next morning. And I spent the first part of my 21st birthday there.

I made it through my finals on a daily diet of 4 litres of Cola, 4 cups of coffee (and I HATE the stuff) and the maximum allowed dosage of Pro-Plus. This allowed me to exist for a week on an average of 3 hours sleep a night! It worked but the after effects were... unpleasant! Plus I did actually fall asleep in one exam for long enough to dream that someone had said the words 'Pens down!' I'm amazed I didn't wake up screaming!

I always amused myself by making up an exam timetable that had space on the day of my last exam for a giant party! Of course it never worked like that, I'd finish and then crawl into bed to sleep for a week whilst everyone else got drunk!

My finals are next week. Fortunately, as a first year grad student, I don't have quite the courseload as some of you (what I do have is a little more difficult, however). Unfortunately, I don't have the pleasure of a summer vacation, as I start doing research as soon as finals are over. It has come to the point in my life that school is pretty much a full time job. Anyway, good luck with finals everyone!

My finals start next week... then senior week culminating in graduation. I just need to survive a few more weeks.

It's been really hectic for me lately because I'm waiting to hear back about a job and still don't have a place to move to. Looks like I'll be crashing on my sister's couch (luckily she's a Browncoat so she won't mind the constant Firefly and Serenity viewings). That seems to be the only thing that really calms me down.

I just finished my finals and my major final paper is in and graded and now I know I will certainly graduate in June. The paper was for a required course in order to graduate I had to pass the paper. One of those do well in class but if you fail the paper you fail the class. Happy to say I got a 98 on my final project paper! To congratulate myself on a job well done after working my butt of this semester, I began to watch Firefly from the beginning again. Haven't watched in in a while. Goes along with me not sleeping cause there was homework to be done. But all is well, I'm back with Serenity and I graduate from college in June!

Finals start up for me next week. Luckilly, nothing too big (took it easy last semester before graduating). The number of weeks in our semester plus one week of finals equals the exact number of episodes of Firefly, plus Serenity. Because of this, I started one of my friends off the first week of the semester and we've been getting together once a week to watch an episode. It's almost as if it's still on the air. We're celebrating finals coming to an end with Serenity. It's made the whole semester better to know that Tuesday is Firefly Night.

i have to take at least the SATs and the SAT2s, cause now a days, many colleges require at least 2 SAT 2s in order for you to get in, and i'm taking the ACTs because i really think i'll do better in them than in the SATs, and it never hurts to just be sure, so i'm taking both the SATs and the ACTs. i wish i weren't taking all of them, but *shrugs* my mom signed me up for them, and then explained to me all of *motions above* that. i dunno. but soon it will be done with, in like a month or two...

Finals are closing in on me as well. I am in the midst of working on my final speech for my public speeking class, taking one more quiz for my nutrition class then cram for finals. Unfortunately for me I cannot lock myself in a quiet room. Being a mother of 2 boys, there are no rooms where they can't find me. Guess I will have to cram on the train to work and any other time I can squeeze it in.
Graduation is right around the corner. All I have to do is not go all crazy.

How responsible. I'm completely amazed.

I just realized I scheduled a root canal for 4 hours before my Vietnamese final and I can't change either one of them. Oops.

Hey even the most moonbrained of us can be responsible every now and then.

I would like you to remember that you who do this thing called a "first draft" are rare as unicorns.

I LOVE writing first drafts. All my handwriting, scrawled across pages upon pages . . .there's something so satisfactory about it.

hand writting a first draft.....you are brave. Well, either that or insane, but I think brave works better. I type up all my stuff, because then the editing is easier. That and not having to re-do everything over again by typing all the handwritten stuff up.

Probably a little of both, but it works so whatever.

Sometimes it's an obnoxious process, but overall the handwritten copy forces me to pay attention to what's going on. I'm one of those people that has a hard time focusing for too long on one thing because I always 8 million other things going through my mind that I have to do RIGHT NOW!

Not that it helps with time management. Nope, still a procrastinator.

I took what I hope is my last ever finals on Monday and assuming I actually passed them all I will finally get my Electrical Engineering degree. It only took me six years since I went part time. I figured if college was going to take two years of my life away then it would be best if I enjoyed them a little more by having time to sleep and study in stead of going the insanity driven, caffeine pill popping, hair losing, brain frying, hallucinating, sleep deprived, high anxiety, no time for nothing road.

To all that are about to take their finals I wish you good luck.
To all that have taken their finals I congratulate you and hope you enjoy whatever you have planned next.
To all that have to grade these exams I say, ehh who cares. I’m done, I no longer have to kiss professor a$$ …..lol (I’m kidding of course. I’m directly related to 3 college professors, 1 high school principal, 2 high school teachers, and 1 elementary school teacher so I will always be kissing professors a$$…lol)

As a good friend of mine once said “I swear, the more I have to work with people with PHDs the more I’m convinced that they are all insane.”

I'm quite certain we are.

Congrats on getting your degree. I know that's a load off the ol' brainpan when you get something like that finished.
