I only discovered the 'verse about 6 months ago, and never saw the BDM on the big screen. Although I've watched it numerous times on DVD (Including last night!) I will see it on the big screen for the first time at the charity screening. I have also got 3 other first timers coming with me. Woo-hoo!

Although I've probably seen the BDM (Big Dam Movie) over 30 times on our 55-inch TV, I've not yet seen it on the big screen.

I can't wait to sit in the theatre and see the title sequence...it makes me cry on the TV...I'm going to be a MESS!! (I love that ship)

Magdalene - BDM (Big Dam Movie) derives from the cast being our Big Dam Heroes (as you will learn when you watch the episode "Safe").

Didn't get to see it on the big screen, since I hate going to the theater anymore.

But I'll try to make the 24th viewing in Tuscon, AZ. I figure if a bunch of browncoats can't ensure a good viewing experience, then there is really no hope.

Anyone who has not yet seen the BDM on the BDS (Big Damn Screen) and lives in the Twin Cities area (Minneapolis/St.Paul) join us Thursday, June 22 at 9:30pm at Riverview Theatre in Minneapolis.
Yeah, been talking this up on the boards a lot, but word of mouth (or post) can do wonders.

Not exactly on topic, but just seeing the name of this thread reminded me when I saw commercials for the BDM back when it first came out.

The whole space with Chinese stuff (not much was made about it being a Western in the commercials) theme really irked me. I probably had the most negative reaction out of anybody who ever switched their colors to Browncoat. If I remember correctly, it was something along the lines of, "That looks like the worst movie EVER made."

Then seeing it for the first time... I don't think I've ever had emotions this jumbled. It's like I want to tear my teeth out just because I don't know what else to do.

Anyone who's not had the pleasure of seeing this movie in theaters, I urge you to do so this time. In all honesty, I might be in jail right now if I had never taken the time to see it out of boredom.

Heads or tails, which way will you choose? Die or live, surrender or fight? Wild and free, together we'll stand, strong and proud, we will claim our right.

Well, since I lost count of my theatrical screenings sometime in early December, I can hardly be called a "virgin".... But I am SO looking forward to seeing the BDM again on the BDS, both in Chicago and Milwaukee. *With* other fans, which is the main thing.

BTW, Chicago is this [holds thumb and forefinger microscopically far apart] far from being a done deal. We've got our theatre booked, just waiting on confirmation of a print.

JerryT -

Maybe I'll see you at the Tucson screening (Already have my tickets!). I'm sure it will be worth braving the theater for you! Are you planning on attending the pre-screening shindig at Bookman's also? (I'm so there! )

I saw Serenity in the theater 8 times, but am really looking forward to seeing it for the first time with other browncoats. And I'm dragging as many of my converts with me as I can

I get chills when I think of seeing the first scene with the ship in a theater full of diehard fans. Should be a memorable experience!

Wow, me and a group of other 17 year olds are going, no complaints from parents. But I've made it clear to them that anything Firefly/Serenity is a big deal - hell, I convinced them to let me fly down to Wellington for 3 days by myself just to see Jewel Staite. Lay down the law, man... "Here's how it is..."

One of that 17y/o group is my first Browncoat convert that I lent the Firefly DVD set to. He hasn't seen Serenity at all, let alone on the big screen. We were gonna watch the DVD that day anyway...then the screening for our reigon came along. Much better.

This will be my first time in the theater too! I bought the series and movie from Amazon when they showed up in my Gold Box. Having been a huge Buffy fan, I have no idea how I was unaware that Whedon had another series on Fox. I completely blame FOX for not adequately promoting their own show or schedualing to allow it to grow into its audiance. When the movie came out I was too busy and it was gone by the time I had time. I am so excited and it is playing in Old Town Pasadena, an area I love. I am still keeping my hopes up for a Big Damn Sequel. Now that I fell in love with this verse and the characters, I am not ready to let go.

I have a friend (not yet a member because she hasn't seen everything yet) who will not only be seeing it for the first time on the Big Damn Screen, but for the first time ever! isn't that shiny? And then she'll probably join but will have been too late to post here, so I'm going to speak for her on this thread

Not sure if I ever noticed this thread first time around. If I did I might have ignored it since I had seen the BDM on the BDS several times by then, starting with one of the advance screenings on 5/5/05.
