Hey, I've been kicking around an idea.. maybe this is just the thread to open this discussion.

We need a place to go to when FFF.net will be down for the above mentioned move ( see Haken's post up above) and a safe Haven for when it's down like what happened before.

I think we should connect up over on the serenitymovie.org site. Gossi's board.

We could start a thread over there called FFF.net and all check in from time to time. I have played with the notion of starting a thread over there with news from over here that we'd like to share with them anyway.

So.... it'd be Haven. A place to run to in times of trouble over here.

Opening a FFFn thread at serenitymovie.org sounds like a workable idea, I suppose. But for the reasons listed above -- i.e., discussion group page format, etc. -- I'll just wait right here at this address until the lights come back on, should the site go back down again.

There's just no place like home, and I'd rather pitch a tent and sleep on the front lawn than shack up anywhere's else...

Kinda like the Allspark's "Alpha Site." (Yes, the Transformers website has a Stargate-themed backup. I don't know why.)

In their case it's an actual free forum they've set up on VB (or UBB, or something). I can't find a link to it now, but next time Allspark goes down (it won't be long, it never is

gossi's board is a good refuge in
time of need. It's not fff.net --
no way it could be -- but if you spend
some time there you start to get more
familiar with it, and you find cross-over
members and some similar topics.
And they are quite friendly, too (as I
said, "some of them is us") so there's
nothing to be afraid of, really.

While fff.net was down I was there and
it was a bit like having to stay in a
different room: where are my clothes,
my hair-brush? do I dare get out of bed
without turning on the light?
That kind of thing. You're not on auto-
pilot for a while. Then you start to find
your way around.

Bless and keep Haken and I hope we're here
forever. I'll take my place on the line
right beside NRDPWR and even offer to share
some of my secret stash of vowels.

This site is one of the very best Firefly sites. I cased em all, really and truely. This I liked cos of the uploading-ness of fanfiction and images. The boards are so very grand and thought-provoking. I seriously come here every day. Dial-up connection or no. I read the newly posted fics that interest me, check out the latest images and flip through the threads. It is part of my routine. E-mail, fireflyfans.net.

That is my two cents worth.
