Re the lawn care - and good question as I've been wondering too - here's an extended question for you ladies, and I'm telling you, it's TMI but I need advice! The dating has begun and (I hope) this is now an issue for me!

So, I wax the bikini line, you know, the front/sides. But... as for the more intimate places... how does one wax there? 1) Ouch! 2) I can't reach!

CK- big HUGS and tons of positive and happy thoughts going your way!!!

Tristan-LOL I am so picturing that reaction now:) Probably shouldn't , but too late for that now

Dayve...so was it a problem, would you do it again???

Whitefall- drat you've broken the code...just don't tell anyone where you learned this:)

See I like my "bare floor" and it makes my tat look better so I am keeping it. I just wondered if guys thought it was a bit trashy or something....good to know it's a hit:)

Is it vain that I have smelled my hair like 5 times now?...I love scented shampoo:)

EDIT- Mal4Prez there are two things no one should EVER do themselves...cut their own hair and wax their own bikini zone...get a pro! It's not too expensive. Brazilian's about $20 a month. Landing strip is maybe $10-12. You can go a bit cheaper with beauty schools ( it really isn't dangerous they are supervised and they have trained well and all) if you're worried about pain I know some girls who take advil ( not aspirin as it will cause bruising) before hand.
I choose to rise instead of fall- U2

get it done professionally. You don't want any too hot issues in the tender area. And believe me, they have seen it all, so the only one embarrased will be you. Also, many places allow you to wear undies of some sort and you just move the sides over-minimizing the display time.

As for TMI - I wish I had known some of this stuff before engaging in relations - would have helped a great deal.

I've been wanting a tattoo for sooooooooo long. I think I've made a decision on what, which is what has been delaying things. Here's what I am thinking:

What do y'all think? It's the symbol for "horseman" (although I would like to get that verified before I get inked). It combines my first passion with a slight Firefly/Serenity reference with the chinese and all. Now, just have to think of a place for it.

Weight gain/loss: Breaking up is the best diet. And being happy in new relationship spells disaster. So, apparently, does breaking your arm. Will get that one sorted out right quick.

That is exactly what I want too FMF:) It's perfect. It's simple, elegant, and not too much. I try to keep my tats in a "hidden" location because students aren't allowed them and I don't want to rub it in that I am, plus my reasons for getting them involve personal stuff I don't generally share with students:) Mind you once had a low rider jeans incident where I am hanging lights and I hear a student say " Nice tat Mrs.G" and I about died 'cause my jeans had slipped down low enough for them to see it

EDIT- rugbug that's a great one...put it wherever you want hon ( though I don't reccomend ankle it hurts)

Back before I knew of Firefly, when I was pursuing my psychology degree (89-94), I toyed with the idea of getting a chinese tattoo...

...which means "to listen" or "to hear", which I thought was fitting for the degree. Kinda glad I didn't now, as I am nowhere near that field anymore.

-EDIT-
I guess posting a black symbol on a black background defeats the purpose, eh?

All those women all happy smiley and bouncy like they're joyful while working out... Never actually saw anyones face look like that while working out...I certainly don't. For me working out is an hour out of my life each day that drives me nuts but with great results...kinda like doctors appointments:)

Edit: makes me think of a new imponderable - juggly butts anyone? I'm getting jiggly-er by the day. I prefer a trim man, and I'd prefer a trim me, but some guys like it if the Baby's Got Back. Or so I hear.

See now, that frustrates me. I was in the gym, six days a week, riding recumbent bike for 45 minutes, on treadmill 25 minutes at 3.5 with a 13 incline and legs weights 4 times a week (no arms at this point) and still wasn't losing weight. Diet was good and in appropriate ranges as well. I decided I was working too damn hard for little to no results and backed off to gym three days a week, riding 3-4 and just started the twice a week run. I'm getting ornery, I tell you.

I agree with never tattooing someone's name/likeness. That's part of what keeps me from getting a Serenity tat. What happens if in 15 years I'm like "Firefly? Phffft." (doubt that will happen, but....

I'm fiddling with my "horseman" idea. I think I might have an silhouette of a horse jumping over it. (Sidenote: I do know of a woman who has a horse jumping over a "brush" jump...if you know what I mean.

Rugbug- right with you doll..Like I said I spent 2 years eating less than 1500 calories each day and working out an hour and half with weights and cardio every day 6 days a week to lose my weight and now to keep it off I can only eat 1700-1800 calories and have to work out an hour a day 6 days a week to keep it off. Exercise. I was never all into it. When I was younger I could eat my weight in junk food and never gain a pound. Unfortunately, it's catching up to me now. I am not obese at all, just developing the "barrel" shape of my predecessors. I have always been proud of the musculature of my legs, and try to keep them in shape by fighting, etc, but I am losing what little butt I had...not sure where it's going!

I agree. No names in ink. Bad idea, even if you think you'll be with that person the rest of your life.

After losing both of my parents and getting diagnosed with kidney disease in one 14 month period, I had the Chinese symbol for "Strength of Heart" put on my lower back. It's covered, it's for me, and I touch it when I need strength.

As for lawn care...I used to manage a laser hair removal spa, and from the numbers of women who paid $$$ to get brazillians...permanent brazillians, it would be my professional opinion that many, many men prefer the garden trimmed waaaay down. That, and my own man folk seems to like that as well.

ok...is exercise imponderable?....
i've always been an active person.... not a couch potato type.....
and i've done a lot of the things active type folks do... but a few years ago i pretty much focused on running, and that kept me in condition...then the dreaded plantar fasciitis got me... for those who've not heard of it - it's also known as heel spurs - and it affects the muscle on the bottom of the foot - (and it usually happens to older runners - insert me).... i had to stop running for a year and man, did i gain weight - i eventually got back on the mountain bike and knocked it down and i've been slowly getting back into running in the last year although i doubt that i'll ever get back to where i was..... and the thing is, i love running - it's the best therapy i could find - just concentrating on placing one foot in front of the other and your mind clears...any troubles i had at the time melted away.... running is as much a state of mind as muscle.... i miss the good old days!

It works amazingly well. I haven't shaved my legs, underarms or wahini in two years, and i have no hair there. It is gone. However, it hurts. It hurts bad. My company used a numbing cream so that helps a lot...but any company that says it is pain free is using the laser at such a low intensity it is a waste of your money. And yes, it is permanent. Make sure you find a company that uses the Lightsheer Diode machines, as those work amazingly well.
It feels a little like a hot needle being poked into your skin everywhere the laser pulses, but the anesthetic really helps, and the results are well worth it.

Edit: Full Brazillian is 6+ treatments spaced every 10-12 weeks apart. Don't EVER let anyone treat you at any interval than that or again, a total waste of money.

I've got a tattoo on my lower back too - a celtic knot, vaguely in the shape of an upside down triangle.

I'd wanted to get a tattoo for a long time, and the lower back is always a nice place I think. I've lived in Ireland my whole life, so I've been surrounded by Celtic myth and culture from my earliest days. I always knew I'd get a Celtic symbol. I chose a Celtic knot as it's supposed to symbolise our place in the universe - I was struggling to find my place in the world at the time. Plus it's pretty :)

I've never regretted getting a tattoo. I still love it three years later. I'm seriously considering getting a second one. I'm thinking of getting the word "poet" written in ogham on the back of my neck, or on my upper back between my shoulder blades.

Did it hurt? Not as much as I thought it would, and I'm a total coward when it comes to pain. It's sort of like a cross between a deep scrape and a very mild burn when you get the outline done, and the shading is very, very easy - doesn't really hurt at all. Mine took an hour and a half. It's not large, but it's a fairly complicated design with some shading effects to it, so it took some precision.
