River6213 has had some fun tonight. I thought you should know. I hope I did the right things. I'm rather new at this. And this is not my expertise. But what a ride. Do we get many of these? You don't have to answer that. I'm tired. Just follow the threads. See "Independents betrayal", "Good Thread", "I must take a break","What makes a Browncoat".

I chased River through these threads. She tried to freak out "onthedrift". Poor guy/gal didn't know what was going on. He started his own thread "Good Thread". River went in there and tried to play mind games. She got pissed when we ignored her and left. But the kicker is "I Must Take a Break". A must read if I do say.
Man River can peel the paint off a barn door. I have met some hard cases, but never thought I find one here. God I just have to talk. I chased River. Tried to keep up with so no would get hurt. "Onthedrift" nearly was. But sounded OK with his last post. Than Kaneman showed up. See "What is a Browncoat" for Kaneman. I didn't expect it but if you look into "I must take a break" River is many people on this site. I was amazed. Read it yourself.

I'm kind of tired, a little exhausted, and it is very late but I needed to talk. Even to a computer screen.

Will go to bed now. Have to get some sleep.

Yup, River's really gone out of his/her way to piss off as many people as possible. Haven't posted a reply to him/her in some time now.

Unfortunately, on a site like this, it isn't really possible to ban someone. But, hopefully people can and will do a permanent ignore.

You said it, the only way is to completely ignore I figure. Trolls seem to be an attention-whore, they do anything simply to get attention-positive or negative. We just have to refuse to give them any. Thankfully there are plenty of shiny people on the site to pay attention to.

My humble suggestion is to leave it alone.

See, Haken has designed this shiny site, and he allows all manner of posts. Nothing is deleted. The worst that can happen is that some posts are relegated to Troll Country. How much more fair can one be than that? My assumption, and I dare anyone to contradict me, is that Haken has a life that comsumes his time outside of the FFFn 'verse, such that he can spare only a limited amount of time to moderating our complaints, never mind maintaining the site against the inevitable technological glitches, spam attacks, upgrades, and so forth.

In my opinion, trolls are a minor annoyance. Much less annoying than than the spam attacks which caused this site to fail about a month back. Internet trolls are so easily dealt with by the simple expedient of ignoring them. This has been said many times, but, sadly, ignored so often.

I prefer to love this site for what it is. Which is a shiny community of Serenifly goodness. Yep, this is a good thread.

It is a great site, and I love it. That's why I'm always here, despite the trolls. And I do try to ignore them most of the time.
I think a few more moderators wouldn't hurt, though. Sometimes things are sent to Troll Country very quickly, but sometimes a thread gets WAY out of hand before anything is done. Or a troll attacks an otherwise shiny thread that should NOT be under the bridge; sometimes it remains untouched, sometimes it's sent to the slums anyway. It would be nice if those kinds of trollish posts could just be deleted.
All in all, though, i agree that the site runs well. And spambots are a far greater threat than trolls (although I did notice that when the site came back up it was relatively troll-free for about a month. Not that I'm saying losing my second home for a week was good, but it did drive a lot of trolls away)
