EXCITINGNEWCRIME

I planned to post this here ages ago, but then there was the crash, and uh, then I forgot

:D

I'm putting together a scrapbook, of sorts, to give to Sean at Serenity Cubed in September.

This is what we're going to be doing, and the more people who participate the better. :)

Everybody who wants to participate, mails me a postcard of their hometown (or as close as they can get to their home town, I know some places are so small there won't be such a thing!), with a message to Sean on the back. That way, he can see where we're all from and how widespread his fans all are, which I think that he would like, AND we get to tell him something personally from each of us.

Full information is in the livejournal community ( http://community.livejournal.com/youngtobeadoc). There's absolutely no need for you to be a livejournal member to read the info, it's just easiest for me to keep it all together that way. The only thing you won't be able to access if you aren't a member is the post with my address in, as that's members only - but if you email me at rach@warm-december.org or PM me here, I will gladly let you have that. I just didn't want to post my address completely publicly.

I've already had a decent amount, but I'd like at least another ten or so to make it look much fuller - there's nothing worse than an appreciation project with hardly any participation! ;)

:D

I need postcards by Monday, August 28th to give me time to put it all together.

Alternatively people could hunt me down at Dragon*Con and give them to me in person - provided it could be guaranteed you could find me! *g*

I won't be accepting any cards in person AT Serenity Cubed, because the current plan is to give Sean the book at the meet & greet on Friday night, so there really isn't time.

Ohh, I keep forgetting to get a postcard and mail it off to you. I'm glad you posted this here! It certainly reminded me I need to get off my butt and do it:)

Maybe post here the date you want all the postcards to reach you by?

So, if you get more than ten, you'll be extra happy?

:D

I'll go do that, but I'll put it in this post too - I need postcards by Monday, August 28th to give me time to put it all together.

I'll totally be sending you a postcard!

I wonder if maybe we can collaborate... I'm running a 5000 fans for Sean Maher campaign and perhaps we could do some teamwork. If you're interested email me at xiannu@gmail.com and I'll give you some links and the general idea.

Otherwise yes, I'll send you something for Sean! :D

When you have them all in the book, take a pic and let us all see what it looked like?

I absolutely will! Especially if it's as impressive as I hope it will be ... I'm holding off as long as possible to see how many I get before I buy anything to put them in because I'm not really sure the best way - any ideas?

I'm thinking something in the style of a photo album with clear sleeves, so that he can see the front and back of each card without having to take them out.

I know what you mean about freaking someone out. I'm reserving the right to hold back anything I think would make him feel uncomfortable but I've yet to receive a single one I think I'm going to have to leave out - everything has been simple and sweet and a nice way of telling him something that you may either a) be too shy to say in person or b) never get the chance to say in person.

I've really enjoyed reading the cards I've had so far and it's just continuing to prove to me how awesome browncoats are!

I have no idea how to arrange to meet up with people at Dragon*Con but hopefully we can manage something!

Okay, cards that I have received!

Amish Country, Pennsylvania
Belfast, Northern Ireland
Boston, Massachusetts
Dhaka, Bangladesh
Kansas City, Missouri
Kaustinen, Finland
Louisville, Kentucky
Missoula, Montana
Myrtle Beach, South Carolina x2
Nyon, Switzerland
Owego, New York
Singapore
Sheffield, England
Sydney, Australia
Washington DC
Windsor, England

So that's 17 in total, I haven't done mine yet, and I have a handful of friends giving me theirs in person soon. If I get 30, I'll be happy!

Oh, and if you live in one of those places, don't let that put you off sending one anyway!

GET THOSE CARDS IN QUICK! ;)

(If you've mailed one that you don't see on the list, can you just comment here to say that it's actually on the way? So I have an idea of how many I'm still expecting!)

Tadcaster, England (that's me!)
Houston, Texas (Shirley; she's my US address for people who wanted to send cards to her, though only two people wanted her address and I don't think she's had any yet)
Leeds, England
London, England (two or three of these, I think)
Charleston, South Carolina
Atlanta, Georgia

So hopefully I'll reach the golden 30!

I PM'd you about a set up at the fan table at DragonCon. Are PM's not getting through as well as no notification emails?

Basically...If you would like to leave a box at the table, we can collect postcards for you and then you can come pick them up at the end of each day. Figured it would be easier than trying to search everybody out in the mass of humanity that is D*C

Would that be of interest to you?
