Bigelow Aerospace is selling 'space' on their next Genesis module:

It's a bit expensive ($295), but you get to fly a photo or something smaller than a golf ball - couldn't the community get together and fly either a Firefly image or something even cooler? Maybe a little Serenity model?

Hey, when does the next Genesis fly? I like this idea.

I belong to the Planetary Society and before the Mars Rover flew we put together a plaque with all our names on it. It was tiny, had to be, but somewhere up on Mars my name sits on the Carl Sagan Memorial Mars Station. Yes, I'm proud!

This would be very fun to do. Someone please move this to the Guerilla Marketing thread? And let's not lose track of it. Please?

We'd need to figure out funding, but that's not impossible.

Anyone interested in the Planetary Society, here is their website. Perhaps some of us, like me take part in the Seti search?

I like this idea, to bad the ornament is bigger than a golf ball. It would be nice to think of a little Serenity floating out there.

but there's no wind in space!

I'd say go with something simple, a photo with the cast and the ship that says Firefly, sorta like that pic on the cover of the DVD set. Unless we find something with joss in it also.

We'll talk more about what exactly "it" will be,
lots of opinions to share.

But I sure like this idea.. a little piece of Serenity out there in the black.

I *love* this idea.
It's a way to re-launch our shiny ship and shiny crew. I'd go for a cast-and-ship photo. Or ???
Deadline is Nov. 1 -- surely we can organize something by then.

bun, wondering about suggesting adding a llama...

You think you know--what's to come, what you are. You haven't even begun.

Could the picture be double-sided? Cast on one side, ship on the other? Or cast and ship on one side, Joss on the other? That would be shiny!

Now I am learning about scary.

I like this idea, too.

Would there be any publicity about it? As much as we'd all get a kick out of knowing our BDHs are in space, wouldn't it generate more interest if others (those who aren't yet Browncoats) heard about it as well? Just a thought.

Woo hoo! You all noticed! Now I'm going to get all teary-eyed about a great community :)

I'll certainly chip in my bit for it. I know my time is limited for organizing, to be honest. I'm not a plantary society member, but I AM an aerospace engineer - the whole thing of course makes me VERY excited.

I'd agree that a photo with a variety of things on it makes sense if we can't figure out a great golf-ball-sized thingie (a leaf is cool, but a Serenity model of that size can surely be obtained - I'd donate a prescreening keychain!).

As for publicity, I'd think that Joss's people would jump on this. Not sure how the word gets out to the powers-that-be.

I love this idea and I think jetflair may be able to solve the ship size problem, she is working on a 3d serenity ship made of sterling silver for necklaces, it would be plenty small, $295 is not a horrid ammount to try and raise.. Im in
