Pool party sounds good!

So, anything to ponder for awhile? I've got about an hour or so before I'll need to turn in.

Maybe we should get them together...they'd last about two years or so.
I don't have anything to ponder, either...sad, that.

... in an emergency? I don't know... I suppose I would throw myself in front of a car if I could save a child's life or something...situations where instinct set in...

I actully know someone who was in the Broad Arrow Cafe, at Port Arthur in Tasmania, when that gunman came in and started murdering people - 22 people died in there! He said he threw himself on top of his wife and so did the friends they were with... actually many of the men did - my friend was just lucky though - crazy guy shot a lot of the men and then their wives...

I did jump into a pool with my clothes on to grab a toddler who'd fallen in unnoticed by his parents once... that didn't take much pondering!

... or were we talking jumping into the ocean and swimming...

Yes, I'd probably have done the same. I actually read about that Port Arthur shooting in a psychology class...very scary stuff, that. Bryant was the shooter, right?

As for the jumping in water with clothing on...wet t-shirt contest!

Sorry, I'm better now.

It wasn't exactly a sexy moment for me though... cold girl with wet shoes does not a happy girl make...

Edit: - yes - he was the shooter - I just never name him 'coz he carried out the worst single gun-man shooting in the world in order to be famous... I'd rather cure cancer... (or save drowning baby?)

Yeah - the parents didn't seem that phased, but the staff at the hotel were impressed and so were other people around the pool... and one 'older' lady got stuck into the parents for not looking out for the baby & for not being appropriately grateful so...

There was a life guard but it was a big pool and I really didn't look for him (he was way on the other side and when I got out he was coming running...) I really just did it on instinct - and my friends I was with made me a little award and bought me cake! I guess I shoud be more proud of myself!

Thanks Tristan! x x

Edit: so who else has acted without thinking and what was the outcome...?

WOW, Magdalena, saving a child's life. You were in the right place at the right time. It's unbelievable that the parents weren't grateful.

Quote:

I've been thinking about this. I can't think of anything that comes anywhere close to your moment. I've pulled someone over, so that they didn't get hit by a passing car. Nothing as dramatic as your experience.

Although I have to add that the best choices that I've made in life have been ones that I made with my heart and not my head.

If you and Tristan need a place to stay, stop by. I'm in Arizona, and you're both welcome to come over for a mudder's milk and some strawberries. I'm not exactly half way between the two of you, but you're welcome here.

grrr, tristan, if i didn't like you so much then I might have to hunt you down and torture you repeatedly with the feathered tickling stick! And if you're not ticklish, then i will just have to bring out... The Comfy Chair!! *dramatic chord*

I think I might be more or less in the middle of you two, magda and tristan, though you'd have to swim upwards...

I've never done anything heoric, though my mum once did a magda and jumped into a pool to save a little boy (never seen run so fast!). Only thing I ever do without thinking is to open my mouth - not always the most clever of things.

Got a lovely shiny bead curtain today for my room - to separate mine and my sister's halves (we have to share - and she sleep walks and snores like a buzz saw, with a gorgeous chinese dragon on it, them being my one of my little obsessions at the mo, (whooping the ass of venetian masks but still not coming anwhere near firefly) and my lovely nanna gave me the money to get the donetheimpossible dvd as my birthday present... so I'm going to have to abstain from James' Sulking Corner and Gormet Coffee House today, less you accept sinfully happy people too.

Instead, he found me the graphic novel which I have now read, and everything in the film is now so much clearer.

Ahh...but magda...you forget...'s my cloning technology (and company)...*checks list* and if you got the inexpensive early versions, they tended to behave like 29-year old virgins -- know-it-all but in reality, impotent.

*pulls out water gun #1 and fills it with water* *waves tiny gun menacingly* bring it on child.

======
As for kissin' *sighs* *fans self* Tristan, you've really got a way with words about kissing...(s'not fair...haven't had anyone to spend time doing the snuggles and kisses with in a long time). Soft, gentle kisses, ticklish nibble-y kisses, "I'm dying of hunger (and lust) for you" kisses....*fans self*

=====
As for jumping into crazy situations...I've jumped in between kids fighting in classrooms more times than is safe (I'm a teacher, and worked as an education assistant/teacher's aide -- the EA part of me just takes over, wanders in and in very tita-ish fashion yells "BREAK IT UP!" while separating the kids). Luckily for me, I haven't been hurt (thank goodness kids tend to shy away from hitting the teacher no matter what), but yeah...slightly crazy teacher-type here.

*sighs* I think my connection hates me today...
oh well, since it's noon...*aims teeny-weeny watergun and shoots at magda*

*peruses calendar* So that means...the second week in October? *sighs sadly* 'means that I'm back at work (we get the first week off for grading and sanity-restoring, since we've been in school since late July)...

*sighs* Okay...that just means I have to save more money to do the "mainland tour" I've been threatening to do for myself this year 'round New Years...that or maybe set up a mini-shindig somewhere for mainlanders to drive to...(and considering that I have to fly to see practially everyone who posts here...)

Those that can kiss do, and those that can't (because of a momentary lack of a partner) chat about it online. Of course I am an optimist, I know a very kissable person is coming around the corner. I just have to keep my eyes open, so I don't miss him as he passes by.
