Oct. 1st will be moving day for the soon-to-be-ex, which means she and all of her stuff will be out of the house. That night, my brother will be over, and he and I will probably tie one or two on. That next week will be the cathartic exercise; I will be rearranging the house to suit me...turn it into a nice-looking bachelor pad...changing the curtains, getting different furniture, etc. So, basically, my ritual is changing the space to fit me rather than "us".

Quote:Originally posted by ChrisMoorhead: Only having had two relationships in my whole life, I don't really have a "ritual". I took the first one horribly and beat the shit out of her new boyfriend, who just happened to have beee my former best friend. Then he dumped her. After I that I challenged her second one to a fight after he kept taunting me about how he was touching her and shit. Course he never accepted. Second girlfriend was kind of the opposit. I think maybe I was desensitized, so when she broke up with me I was very apathetic. That got her very upset, with my having absolutely no intentions to make her so. I do have a history of ritual purging of my desires whenever I develop an attraction to someone, though. One time it involved living in a cove alongside a waterfall for a month and a half. Another time it involved a 7 hour hunt that ended in a knife fight. It always revolves around endurance and suffering, overcomming very real obstacles. When I re-enter the world, things like "crushes" seem much smaller and insignificant. EDIT: This actually reminds me of a conversation I was having last night with some friends. If you have an intense desire to be with someone, if you're "in love", would you no consider killing them to be a matter of great personal triumph? Because at the point, you've crossed a barrier, the barrier to ignore your deepest personal desires. You've conquered the part of you that covets. [IMG] "Pain is your friend, it is your ally. It will keep you awake, and angry, and remind you to finish the mission and get the hell home. But you know the best thing about pain? It let's you know that you're not dead yet."

I agree with you entirely RugBug. I don't mean to offend you, Kekhil, but I am a pacifist, and have always believed that killing usually never can do good...
