Firefly- Objects In Space A fluid, dreamlike quality that accentuated the mystery that is River.

Buffy- Once More With Feeling 30's and 40's musical grandure in a show about a singing demon? Unbelievable.

Dark Angel- Freak Nation The series finale looked like a freakin' movie, not a TV show. It defines 'slick'.

Kung Fu- ANY first season episode A wide lens and near mystical creativity ruled here.

I scraped the surface here, let's have some more!

Band of Brothers - Any ep Great cinematography, it captured what many people perceive as the look and feel of WW2.

I agree with spacelips Band of Brothers has to be in the top 5.

Also in the top 5 "From the Earth to the Moon."

I would have to say, along with all of the ones that are already listed above, one of my alltime favorites would have to be:

Angel

Apocalypse Nowish

....especially the fight scene at the end....BEEUUTEEFULL!!

Hey Chris :)

I'd have to go with a few episodes of Norther Exposure - they were awesome.

Plus to add to your Buffy: Restless the dream sequences were very evocative.

Also the Angel episode were we go back to the 50's when angel first was in the Hyperion hotel. Don't remember the epiosde.

Will try and think of others later - but I can't always access the site :(

Pretty much any episode of Supernatural. Great at getting the atmosphere of an hour-long horror movie every week.

Definitely Band of Brothers and FF…

I'd have to add the any ep. of the current and last season of "The Wire". 'cause that’s all I have seen.

Talkin' about capturing the essence of “real” people. They always give u several shots throughout the show that, as a still, define unpolished, “day-to-day” society.

Way too hard. This question is WAY too hard.

But, I'll try.

I'm going to seconf Once More With Feeling and Objects in space. I watch OMWF last night and I must say, I love the way they have characters walk unto Extreme Close-ups -- such as during "Wish I could Stay", with Tara in her ECU at the far left and Giles walking into the frame, but its a wide-angle shot so they're both infocus, which is so cool.

Hmm... Alias Phase One was really well done, and featured a far number of pretty cool shots. The whole show is shot very well. Its one of the things that makes season four so frustrating. The scripts? So bad. Or at least, not as good as they used to be. The filming? So good. So I keep looking at it, expecting it to be good, but its not good...

Okay, that's three, right? Two mone...

Lost's season 2 finale Live Together, Die Alone. It was utterly amazing, especially the later flashbacks and

the strange purple-ish light

.

And... hmm... Arrested Development Motherboy XXX, if only for the scene where Buster is haunted by reminders of his hand.

Goodgrief!!!

I'm able to login here at my flat!!!!

(Sorry I'm so excited! I've not been able to open this forum here on my minimac for about three months. For some reason now it's fixed itself!)

FANTASTIC! *Does the Xander style Snoopy dance*

Ok Big "C" to answer your question in greater depth.

Beautifully Photograped episodes on TV

1. BRIMSTONE : This short lived yet very profound
show did something unique in terms of photography. Basically they knocked out all the reds. So that you were left with very cold hues. Any reds/oranges or warmth would only be used to further express the narrative. It was awesome to look at! Almost every episode was mesmerising.

2.ANGEL : 'Are you now, or have you ever been'

3.BUFFY : 'Hush'

4.FIREFLY 'Out of Gas & Objects in space'

5. Northern Exposure -- almost every single episode.

6.LOST 'Pilot episode & Walkabout' That plane crash was sublime!

That's it for now. It's gooooood to be back! Woohooo!!!

good to be back 'C"

Season 5 was nicely shot as I recall but I struggle to re-watch season 5 as I have a problem watching things about brain/head illness' and it crushes me to watch what Joyce goes through.

Definitly Band of Brothers, especially the second ep where they paratroop into the war, and it looks like you the audience are jumping into battle yourself.

SIX FEET UNDER is another HBO show that looks just absolutely gorgeous. THE SOPRANOS was really cool in that it looked slightly slick, but also in that they film on location. That the New Jersey you see on the show IS the New Jersey in real life.

24 is one network show that to me is a show that definitly matches the tone of the series. You can feel the L.A. heat during the intense days of the show.

Agree there, Joyce's illness and departure absolutly tear me apart.
But I was talkin' bout Angel S5, not Buffy.

Buffy S5 was nicely photographed, but mostly nothing stellar, save for Fool For Love...

Any episode of The Shield.

Opening sequence of Doc Martin. Helicopter shot abpve Cornish coastal cliffs. Small short-haul twin prop airliner approaches along the cliffs and flies under the camera. Nice track.

Hamish MacBeth. Any shot at random - see remarks elsewhere about Northern Exposure. Any fan of either who hasn't seen the other. Should. They even did a musical episode like Buffy. Scottish fishing village? West Side Story? You can't fail to see the link...

The Firth / Ehle Pride & Prejudice. Too many to mention, but Mr Beveridge's Maggot gets a nod because of Mal and Inara a-dancin' and a-snipin' in Shindig.

Title sequence to Father Ted.

Due South. CLJ mentioned "Victoria's Secret" Melina Kanakaredes really hasn't aged between 1995 and CSI:NY, has she?

G (wearing a beret and doing the framing thing with the outstretched arms and the fingers and thumbs. An Hungarian accent wouldn't hurt.)

Oh, all right then...

A1 1st couple cross, acknowledge each other;

back to back with 2s on the sides

A2 1st couple turn single, right hand turn with 2s on the sides,

left hand turn each other half way to get home

B 1st couple cross and cast down around the 2s

to end in the centre of a line of four facing up
WHILE 2s back to back and fall back onto the ends of the line of four

Lead up 3 steps, then fall back;

1s cross leading up then down around 2s to cast into progressed places.

I trust you got all that? Seems to me learning to fence the night before would be easier...

I know I am shaking the dust off my greycoat with this one but I used to really like the way they shot Hawaii 5-0. There were some very unusual camera shots and the groovy music didn't hurt.

Also....got a bummer here. My password is my cat's name and we had to put him to sleep two days ago...really a bummer to log on.
