"Did he just go crazy and fall asleep?"

Unreal. I actually overslept this morning. Because I was out too late at the Forsaken Pub. (see previous post) I think I'll start a new thread about "is it possible for the virtual world to intrude on reality". Anybody game?

How did I miss all the chocolate and nekkidity? Magdalena? 'Splain, please. Oh, never mind. [rereads own previous post in total horror]

So, why "Forsaken"?

Well, it's really not place to comment, as I have yet to accept Forsaken membership (I am just not a joiner. Even of artificial clubs...), but I appear to be first to get on this request and I do have a high degree of respect for its members, even if I may not hold fast with every attitude.

PhoenixRose (at the center of a controversy? could it be? (in the world of flame wars, there be friendly fire, too, PR: ) has set forth the history and culture of the Forsaken 'cause frankly, their tired of their most FAQ...

http://www.fireflyfans.net/thread.asp?b=11&t=23312

Comes complete with batteries (for Only the Lonely out there in the black) and additional links for more threads.

*comes dragging into the bar and pours himself into a barstool*
I think I'll be needing some of that special KelKhil coffee this morning, if you don't mind terribly.

Oh, hey, BrownCoat1! Glad to see you here.
In a nutshell, quite awhile ago, a sock-puppet troll started a thread saying God was finally with this country in the guise of Bush. Just about everyone who disagreed or argued was labeled a forsaken by the sock puppet. So, in the spirit of solidarity, those of us named as such started our own threads and have been having fun ever since. Pyres, s'more's, blood sacrifices, burning bibles, things like that...all in fun, mind you. There are several Forsaken threads out there, and one of them actually has the link to the original thread.
I hope you hang around...we're a pleasant bunch!

Seeing as how I'm online during the graveyard shift (local time that is), I'll have a handful of caffienated breathe mints and a pint of something that'll make my nerves tingle.

If you find yourself getting too worked up about stuff that isn't real (RP Threads etc), then go outside, breathe in some fresh air and try feeding the ducks. (Because ducks don't care about your politics, religion, skin colour, choice of music or even your haircut. They like everyone, provided you bring them food.)

May have been the losing side. Still not convinced it was the wrong one.

Hey Tristan. Thanks to you and to JohnnyQuest (loved that cartoon as a kid) for the background and info.

Thanks again Tristan for the invite. Makes one feel all warm and fuzzy.

Never understood why some feel the need to get all religious on a forum and start shouting fire, brimstone, and damnation down on all those who don't agree. That and politics. For some I suppose it's okay as they love getting all tangled up in those "my side versus your side" flame wars. No thanks, I'll pass. Nothing will start fights and hard feelings faster than talking politics and religion. I avoid those subjects like the plague they are.

***lifts drink in a toast***

Here's to the Forsaken and their not caving in to pressure and damnation.

KelKhil, you are indeed a life-saver. Thank you!

Nicodemus, the coffee here will do wonders for the tingly feelings!

BrownCoat1, that is one reason the Forsaken get along so well...we don't get into religious arguments. We accept all! I am glad you are with us.
*toasts the room with his coffee*

Would you believe I have an allergic reaction to coffee? Strange but true. *Grabs a pint of pure caffiene that's been melted into a liquid and toasts the room on the way over to the new premises*

No problem. I seem to have an affinity to short-lived, wonderfully-crafted advneture shows.

So, yes, you've been offered the virtual Browncoat of welcoming, but if'n you want to see real craftsmanship, check out Tristan's work. Shiny.

Don't be too quick to pull the plug on RePo (PoRe?) discussions. As befits the denizens of our fair 'Verse here, dozens upon scores of extremely civilized exchanges have made there way onto these fora. And we are nothing if not a well-represented cross-section of spectra.

Not sayin' there ain't some bad, but like I said before, change the channel if you don't like it. (wonder if I can trademark that expression? got a ring to it...) 'Cause, truth of the matter is that, no matter how you might try, FF/S is built on the deep things of our experience and it can be very hard to avoid religion, politics and their parent, philosophy.

Very true but I wish they would stay confined withing the bounds of the Real World Events threads where you can go for some deep debate and then run away when you get out of your depth!

Back from a long day at work and fully dressed. Oh, EmmaRigby! I didn't mean to make you cry...Just Wanted to hear Car Full Of Pain.

Pick a song and I'll sing along.

Jumps behind bar to catch up on backlog of drafts and other simpler things. Tosses a couple of 5 gallon buckets of ice through the crusher and checks on the supply of simple syrups.

Yep, looks like we're ready to go.

I have seen Tristan's shiny leather craft. I unfortunately already own two other brown coats and have so many Serenity & Firefly goodies that are calling for my free coin. *sighs*

I have emailed Tristan privately about commissioning him for a job, but alas have heard nothing back.

I do look at some of the discussions from time to time, but have not really taken part as the ones I have seen have become rather heated. That is not to say I have not seen some with educated, rational, and logical points, just that I haven't felt an overwhelming need to add to the threads.

I agree that FF/S have elements of our experiences in them, and that is part of what makes them both so special. I think that some people find it too easy to be closed minded and argue their own point as if it were the only one that mattered.
