Just in case you don't know the song in the title, here it is( and it is MisterG and my wedding song)
Let's Do It

(Cole Porter)

When the little bluebird
Who has never said a word
Starts to sing Spring
When the little bluebell
At the bottom of the dell
Starts to ring Ding dong Ding dong
When the little blue clerk
In the middle of his work
Starts a tune to the moon up above
It is nature that is all
Simply telling us to fall in love

And that's why birds do it, bees do it
Even educated fleas do it
Let's do it, let's fall in love

Cold Cape Cod clams, 'gainst their wish, do it
Even lazy jellyfish do it
Let's do it, let's fall in love

I've heard that lizards and frogs do it
Layin' on a rock
They say that roosters do it
With a doodle and cock

Some Argentines, without means do it
I hear even Boston beans do it
Let's do it, let's fall in love

When the little bluebird
Who has never said a word
starts to sing Spring spring spring
When the little bluebell
At the bottom of the dell
Starts to ring Ding ding ding
When the little blue clerk
In the middle of his work
Starts a tune

The most refined lady bugs do it
When a gentleman calls
Moths in your rugs they do it
What's the use of moth balls

The chimpanzees in the zoos do it,
Some courageous kangaroos do it
Let's do it, let's fall in love

I'm sure sometimes on the sly you do it
Maybe even you and I might do it
Let's do it, let's fall in love

I tried for several years to get PG...and we had actually quit trying and were looking into adoption when out of the blue, I got a ferocious mid summer chest cold. I remember drinking Robitussin like no ones business...and lo and behold...Carson was born March 2001!

My doctor told me that it was the cough syrup that did it. Apparently, this - um- is an issue for lots of women. Husband's little friends couldn't get to my half of the equation.

Oh, geez. Just visit the link under MsG's blog to read a more technical description.

...which reminds me...MsG, a while ago, you said you can't stand Cherry 2000 - but I gotta admit, for sheer cheese factor, it doesn't get any better than Cherry 2000!
The Love Bots?
Melanie Griffith (Yeck!) as a rogue pilot/adventurer for hire?

Select to view spoiler:

Our "Hero" leaving Cherry in the desert, Pepsi in hand for Melanie (Yeah, right. Like that would happen)?

A fine, fine cinematic craptacular masterpiece.

PHOENIXROSE

You think you know--what's to come, what you are. You haven't even begun.

Heya! just checking in before bed!
MsG, I think the 'long in the tooth' expression comes from beavers and other animals who have to chew wood all the time because thier teeth just keep growing. Such an animal who gets "long in the tooth" is, well, useless. Eventually their mouths get stuck open and they starve to death. This is why, if you have certain animals as pets, it's important to make sure they have plenty of wood to chew up. Once their teeth get too long, there's no real way for them to chew and reverse the process. So they're probably old and certainly useless.
I could be wrong, but it makes sense to me.
I've seen parts of 'Tank Girl' and know it's thought of as a cult classic, but never got into it. Many, many males I have known have a ridiculously bad crush on her, too.
Is that all? I should go to bed. I get to sleep in tonight! Huzzah!

PR: since the idiom "long in the tooth" means someone or something that is getting older, I believe it has its roots (heh) in animals that have teeth that continually grow over their lifetime...but nothing to do with long teeth making them useless. In animals that have teeth that continually erupt (i.e. horses) you can judge age in relation to what the tooth structure looks like. The teeth aren't necessarily "long" but the older the teeth are and the more they have grown out, the easier it is to determine age.

So imponderablers ponder this one for me. Do I evaluate whether I'd like a social situation strangely? I pretty much look at them this way: 1.) is it actually social or is it sitting and listening to music or some such 2.) if not social do I at least like the thing that it actually is 3.) no matter which it is who's going and do the people I enjoy the company of outweigh the people I don't enjoy the company of.

Odd or normal? Just curious.

Just a man with a man's courage
He knows nothing but a man
But he can never fail
No one but the pure in heart
May find the golden grail
Oh oh - oh oh
- Flash Flash I love you
- but we only have fourteen hours to save the Earth

He'll save every one of us!
Stands for every one of us!
He'll save every man every woman every child that's alive Flash!

But don't forget The Highlander:

Here we are
Born to be kings,
We're the princes of the universe!
Here we belong
Fighting for survival
In a world with the darkest powers.

Just one year of love
Is better than
A lifetime alone
One sentimental moment in your arms
Is like a shooting star right through my heart
It's always a rainy day without you
I'm a prisoner of love inside you
I'm falling apart - all around you

I could go on, but I won't. It's time for some long-overdue impulse control. Somebody opened a big can of worms with this one, I tell you.

By definition it's social if the activity involves more than one person. So as long as you are enjoying it and all...listening to music is social:)

Need an imponderable here.

What is your idea of a age difference between couples. Is ten or twenty years difference in age to much? Does the age difference get greater as you get older? If you were fifty, would it be proper to date someone thirty?

Age is a number. It's the age in one's heart that matters. Which is why I'm a cantankerous seventy-year old.

Seriously, if the two can make a go of it, why should the amount of times each has spent rotating around the sun make any sort of difference in the equation? Why would anybody willingly restrict themselves from that based purely on age?

Of course, even as I say this, at the physical age of 21, I still find myself most attracted to girls a year or two younger than me, so take what I say with a heap of salt.
