All seriousness aside, MsG, I have the utmost respect for you and what you've done with these kids. I sense that you also have a personal empathy going on here, just from what I've gleaned from your various posts. You're amazing. And I'm sorry that this even had to become an issue for you. I'm guessing but I'm betting that part of the "Principal Problem" was fueled in part by all the bad press lady teachers and their young boys have been getting lately. You have to be on guard about things that wouldn't otherwise cross your mind. Terribly unfair. (Just like there are good priests out there.)

On a slightly lighter but nonetheless related note, I strongly suspect you can get away with calling them sweetie pie, etc. and mussing up their hair precisely because youse a lady. I for one would doubtlessly "get popped" if I said/did something like that, if not by the students, by the Principal. Never, ever (ask MrG, or even MrT), never underestimate the power of the eyelash, the smile or the neckline over mortal man. As Mal put it:

"You're pleasing. You're...hell, you're all kinds of pleasing...so don't think for a second that we ain't interested..."

Kind souls that most of the womenfolk on this site are, they gets perplexed by the menfolk in their RW. They's as simple as Jayne. Thankfully most of them aren't criminal about it, just oafs.

Don't stop with the eyelashes. Don't stop smiling (but there ain't a power in the 'Verse that can stop MsG from smilin') and for heaven's sake, or at least MrG's, don't throw out the sweater. Slink around the house all sexy for him...

Jonny, that's so sweet! I almost cried reading it.

yup that was so incredibly sweet... HUGS jonny. You're so nice

So wait what were we pondering again??

Oh I've got one. Not really a question more a survey kind of.. So what is your favorite funny memory of a holiday??

Mine has to be the time my friend Jeff ( who has really long hair and a somewhat pretty face) dressed as a cheerleader for Halloween and we all went on this scavenger hunt and Jeff ends up in a group with a few frat boys who'd had waaay too much to drink and one of them tried to make out with him...It was a riot. Jeff struggling to get the guy off. The guy with his lame lines trying to talk Jeff into it, totally oblivious to Jeff's gender.

Sorry, msg. I know. I'm a bad little hippie

Heh, on not getting a parking ticket, one of the Buffy writers had a cameo in Once More with Feeling where she was singing to a parking enforcement officer.

Why can't you let it go!
It isn't right! It isn't fair!
There was no parking anywhere
I think that hydrant wasn't there
I'm asking you please no!
I think I've paid more than my share
I'm just a poor girl, don't you care?
Hey, I'm not wearing underwear!

I accidentally sang that out loud on a bus once. I was listening to the episode soundtrack on my diskman. People stared. I had to walk to work for over a month.

Heh...and I was always so confused when MN made mention of being asked if she was wearing underwear. I just didn't get it until I bought the soundtrack...'cause you know they cut off that line in the actual show. Total lightbulb moment.

I'd really like to know ( not that I am willing to go with the no underwear option. I mean I've already been in enough trouble today) but as MisterG will tell you I love buying cute underwear almost as much as I love cute shoes( I notice he never objects to the lingerie shopping sprees the way he does to the shoe sprees)...ok that was TMI, but it's been a day and I soooooo don't care:) 'Sides we're all friends here.

yes I think there should be a rule...teachers get the good stuff.

Have to love one of my munchkins. Right after the bell rang he came in all fire and tantrum because I'd busted him doing something wrong and now he's in trouble. He stomps out with the usual dramatic "you're so mean I hate you" and not 5 min later he's back in my room. saying he's gonna sit in with me 'cause he's got nowhere else to go and wants me to make it better. ...yes being the mommy I am I helped him find a way to fix it. But you just have to love the mind of a teenager. Best quote that applies still has to be " a foolish consistency is the hobgoblin of little minds"

I'm almost sure that's an altered photo, either using a green screen or just a really good cut out of Jayne from another photo. I'm not an expert on these things, but something about the casting of shadows and the outline of his body seem to betray...

I could be wrong, though. If it's legit, that appears to be a bar/saloon, so any of the episodes where he's in one might be a good place to investigate. Off the top of my head, I think he's wearing a similar costume at the begining of that episode where Inara's in the bar with mal and Jayne, then Mal starts a fight by stealing from the guys he's playing pool with. I think it was "Shindig"... ohh, but I don't think he had a sidearm there.

Ok, I'm done rambling.

"Did he just go crazy and fall asleep?"

Well, even though the Friskies have mostly gone off to their bunks or watches or duties, they'll awake in the morning, return from their watches or take a break from their duties. This then is addressed to those underwearers. And to any still present with an interest.

Here's why the movie trick works so well. Even though the underwear's not there, you're still covered up; the present waiting to be unwrapped. If the underwear was all there was, it's absence would not be as enticing. What is covered is what is desired. What is uncovered merely waits or engages. The whole concept of allure is the promise not the revelation.

Regarding the Good Stuff ('cept Kelkhil's) belonging to the Blue Sun Corp. where' our spirit of adventure? Have the blockers and firewalls and page counters and keystroke recorders robbed us completely? Where are those brave souls who thought nothing of Xeroxing their bare bottoms? Use the company equipment to take and/or scan and send. Break into the boss' office! That's a good Browncoat.

http://www.virgin.net/tvradio/firefly/gallery/gal_01_02.html
Taken from the same website. Note Jayne is dressed almost the same. But the beard is only scruff, so I can't say for sure it's the same epidsode. How many episodes did Jayne wear shirts without something on them? And sorry, I can't at the moment place this scene either.

And it's good to see you CMH.
