EDIT: Makeup is great to look at, I agree, but in the throes of passion the taste...I find that people who are pretty in makeup are also pretty without. If they not pretty, makeup may help but there's no hope for some.

As to facial hair, neat and trimmed is dandy. Nothing wrong with A hillbilly biker look per se, but we're talking about attractiveness, not making statements. Mine tends toward the lazy like NVG but without the ethnic advantage. I've been moustachioed for as long as I could be; a goatee comes and goes and scuff stays around beyond its welcome more time than not.

Moved from previous thread:

Good Morning everyone. Thursday is upon us. Oh Boy.

Makeup, sure. But I really hate getting it all over my clothes when really close.

Facial hair, okay. I'm lazy and don't grow facial hair so fast. One of the perks of my ethnicity.

ADD: All you Fast like freak peeps (cough, PR, cough) are a little too quick for me.

Nope, cuz I still posted before he did!
Anyway, I prefer no facial hair myself. And probably no makeup, too. Never having gotten to really date a woman, I don't know for sure and certain, but I do know that lipstick feels funny.

Make up or no. I am not a big fan of Make Up. I think that a lot of people who wear it over-do it. Makes them look fake.

Facial hair - the Wifey hates it. Complains when I don't shave. So every once in a while I grow some to drive her nuts. Good fun there. I just tell her she got out voted because my daughter loves it when I have facial hair and complains when I shave.

The kicker about it is when I do shave it normally takes me mentioning it for the Wifey to notice it is gone. Yet my Daughter notices it the second I walk out of the bathroom. Doesn't bode well for the Wifey's case.

I asked this of guys because Maxim magazine in combination with Glamour put up 3 pictures of the same model with varying degrees of make- up. All the guys in the survey had said they like girls without make-up and all three pictures had fairly subtle make-up, but what was funny is that 40% of the men didn't realize it was the same model ( no mak-up tricks used just more or less make-up) and 80% of the men picked the model with the most make-up as the most attractive. The point of the study was to show that most guys don't recognize subtle make-up as a woman wearing make-up. They only see it as make-up when it's visible blush, high color lipstick, and colored eye shadow and eyeliner.

They also did a facial hair study and even though most women said they didn't like facial hair, they actually rated the model ( again 3 pics same model various degrees of facial hair) with moderate facial hair as most attractive.

So I just sort of wondered what we thought of this:)

I don't like beards; have grown accustomed to mustaches.
Husband grows a beard in the winter and calls it his Winter Foliage. I think it just makes him look older than he is - it has a lot of gray in it. When he sees it this year, he may change his mind and shave it off...but not if he sees this post! He'll keep it just to spite me!

I don't wear a lot of makeup, but used to work with a group that got "done up" every day. I like the way I look with a little makeup, but no way would anyone call me "Tammy Faye"

NV- I knew a guy in college that is Arapaho (Kansas, I think) and he had lots of stubble all of the time. I remember this because he used to joke his "Indian" name is "5 O'clock Shadow."

I don't wear much myself, but if I don't have blush and a nice lipstick I get a ton of " are you ok?" " You look kind of sick" comments due to my very pale skin and dark hair. Without make-up it's a bot Morticia Addams

Hi all! I posted on the last page but I think it got moved before the post went through. Newbie here...hope it's okay if I chime in!

For me, facial hair depends on the man and on what kind of facial hair. I like neatly trimmed beards or goatees, but I'm not a fan of just a mustache (unless you're Edward James Olmos!) but that's probably because my dad always had one and I don't like my dad.

For make up, I don't know. I personally wear make up everyday, but it's not a lot. Just some eyeliner and gloss. But I do get very lazy and frequently skip it altogether. I don't know if guys like me better with or without. No one's ever said...

Quick ponderable. Maybe not so quick now that I think about it.

So what is up with the theroy of women seeking their fathers and men seeking their mothers? I ask this because I've had many female clients mention that they wish I were their dad.

Knowing myself I feel sorry for them. I can be bossy, neglectful, impartial, and a downright A-hole from time to time. And what kind of childhood did a woman who seeks me out have?

I know there a many factors involved, but I needed to ramble on senselessly to keep my mind off the day.

NV- um everybody has negaive moments. It's the assholes you have to watch out for ( see below) you're a really good catch. You care and you've learned about yourself so you don't repeat bad patterns
As for seeking out father and mother figures...hey we all do something to make up for what we didn't get as kids. Some of us buy ourselves stuff because we were poor, some try to seem perfect to hide how imperfect they have always felt, and some seek out approval and security they missed out on from parents.

Hi Rivertwin we're glad to have you here. Jump right in...oh and scary story about your friend( previous thread) that's why I mention the rules. I don't think most women understand the stats
1 in 4 women will be raped in their lifetime
1 in 3 women will be abused
The leading cause of death among pregnant women is HOMICIDE.
Ladies be careful out there....
and guys you be careful too...I just don't know your statistics ( sorry I can find out though)

Make up...well I like both options. When a girl is make up free I just feel like it means she's comfortable not putting on appearances and that's hot. Then again getting all gussied up for me is hot too. So I can go either way. What can I say, I'm easy to please. That is as long as the girl is perfect in everyway and has already passed my rigirous standards

As for facial hair. Well I don't know what women like but I shave every day. I haven't ever really thought of growing it out cause I just don't understand how I'd maintain it. If a girl wanted to see me grow it out I'd be happy to give it a shot once.

I'm not a fan of facial hair. I had a boyfriend who decided to keep some stubble for a day or two. It looked kinda nice on him, but unfortunately after a night of kissing I had a face that looked like it had been rubbed with sandpaper. Not fun!

Don't ask me, but I guess I sorta fit the mold. My mom is a skinny, semi-tall, redheaded, strong, self-reliant woman. I've always said redheads are the hottest of all headed women (I bet they're hotter than beheaded women too...luckily I've never met any of them though). I also tend to go for skinnier women. Though I'm also fairly skinny and I'd rather not have a girl who could crush me. Also, women who are totally dependant on a man turn me off like nobody's business. So, I guess I do look for a woman who's a lot like my mom. I don't think it's that strange though. I mean when you grow up admiring your parents then you want to find someone like them and you strive to be like them.

Hmmm, I think I kind of break the mold for daughters seeking their fathers. I do tend to like men who are quite a bit older than me, but I'm perfectly happy with the right guy in my own age bracket. But as for physical attributes, I like tall men who are laid back. Oh, and faithful. I like that part. My dad's short (I'm taller than he is although he says he's the same height as me) and he's an ass who's so tightly wound up he's about to disappear into another dimension.

WARNING!!! This post contains strong language!

This Be The Verse

They fuck you up, your mum and dad.
They may not mean to, but they do.
They fill you with the faults they had
And add some extra, just for you.

But they were fucked up in their turn
By fools in old-style hats and coats,
Who half the time were soppy-stern
And half at one another's throats.

Man hands on misery to man.
It deepens like a coastal shelf.
Get out as early as you can,
And don't have any kids yourself.

LOL! I could imagine MisterG with a goatee for some reason sweet MsG!! YOu scared me with those statistics though - I don't think they aply for Australia though... and I know they're worse in South Africa...

I wear a little make up on the right occassion... I don't wear a tonne and since I am a nanny I don't ever bother for work - though when I teach album making classes I do wear a little for proffessionalism.

I prefer a man to be clean shaven - though a goatee looks hot on some men... It is a man to man thing I guess...

Oh poor NVG *hugs* you're really flustered aren't you? Well, you remember that MsG & I are here to bap anyone who takes advantage of that... and to listen if you need a willing ear... and I don't know why they would want you to be their father... hell father isn't what I'd be thinking!!!

Good Night Mags. As for the client thing. Most of them never had real fathers. They were stuck with whoever they had and who ever their mothers brought around. In many cases those men ended up as sexual offenders and usually with the clients mentioned. I guess they could see me as stable and caring. And a few of them really liked the fact that I wouldn't let 'em get away from much. Metaphorically speaking I think I'll work my kids hard, beat them often, and spoil them every chance I'll have. I got alot of the first two growing up, and occasionally got spoiled.

So, for the married with kids folks out there, what is it like to try balancing kids and marriage and romance? I know its gotta be different for most, but I'm just real curious of the whole thing.

Oooh, facial hair?

This was my very first beard at around 16 years old. Proud Scottish whiskers they are.

After my dad forced me to shave it for a court date, I grew some back a little more stylized. This is me at 17 with a goatee.

As soon as I was 18 I enlisted, so there's a good while without me having any facial hair. This is me at 21, after I was medically discharged, subsequent to surgery. If I look drugged, it's because I am.

I personally beleive that beards are one of the few exclusively manly things left in this country. I like them and I don't understand how they went out of style. In the military, shaving became required when airborne gases started being used on the battlefield. In order for a gas mask to form an airtight seal againt the skin, you can't have any hair between the skin and rubber. That's a pragmatic reason. How did it end up spreading to become a sign of "profesionalism" and crap?

So many reasons for the facial hair passed through the ages. From Taliban to Amish. I know they are recognized as reilgious sects, but the facial hair always had some sort of social significance also. I really wanted to comment on the change in your face in only a few years. Time seems to speed up for some folks in various situations. Hope its slowed a bit to allow for more livin'.

That and I'm really jealous of the gnarly beard at 16.

JQ- I love the pics and thanks for the ups. I just hope more kids get the chance to take a step up like many of the clients I've handled have. They all can't go on to productive lives, but I'm still glad to have known all of them. Even the knuckleheads who love dishin' out grief. Especially them.

My boyfriend has a beard but I don't mind it since he keeps it short. I'm glad he does because I don't like longer beards. I also think he would look weird without it though.

As for makeup, speaking as a woman I do not understand men who are attracted to women who pile it on. I see women like that and think of Tammy Fae Baker. I wear a little mascara and some powder to keep the shine off. If I'm going somewhere special I do the lipstick and eyeshadow thing but I like to keep it light. I'm not saying that women who wear full makeup are unatractive just the ones who look like they apply it with a trowel.

Have no clue which is doing what. This chimp is hungry. Told all at the pub about dinner (Venison backstrap sliced thin on wheat bread with white corn tortilla chips). Really looking forward to cutting up a roast for stew with fluffy oven bread or Fry bread. MMMM.

LOL NV- really you are fantastic and I'm with you ont hat. What is it about the knuckleheads that makes us care so much about them. "cause it's not their winning personality.

CMH- Hey cool history there. I always wondered why you had to have short hair and shave if you were in the military. As for the professional to be shaved thing, I have no clue. It's like the have to wear stockings with a skirt to be professional. Doesn't appear to have any real basis, just some sort of weird social norm...maybe it's 'cause people think guys with beards are shifty or some such...I'm not sure why unclad legs make you less professional either.

We don't have good stuff like that here. Except maybe off-road mom and pop shops that you have to go through Deliverance country to get to. Don't remember Military, um, food that good either. MMMMM...

(Clarification note: I have never been in the Military.)

Jonny- apparently the website you gave the url for is " obscene and tasteless" which is what my blocker said. As I am at school they have a net nanny blocking software to keep the kids away from inappropriate content. It blocks all personal website and tons of other stuff including ( and this makes me mad) ebay. Sigh

The site does have some not so good links I'm sure, but not what I posted. Oh, dear. Oh, dear. Try this one instead: http://www.dribbleglass.com/subpages/strange/celebs.htm

LOL- hey no worries a little obscenity never scared me. Most of my friends are cops ( you have no idea what obscenity is until you start hanging out with cops) Sadly the other link is also blocked. This wretched program blocks everything. Tried to do a search to buy an old pbs show called the bloodhound gang and it got blocked too:(
