Simon,
Please tell me what episode that quote is from! It's exactly their humor and it made me laugh out loud. Thanks! Their best lines are usually just straight observations of what is happening. I love it.

"Can't take the sky..."

Mike and the bots used that line in Mystery Science Theater 3000: The Movie.... [not sure about any other uses]

Yup a movie ... our heroes took on a shortened version of This Island Earth

DVD/ Videos are sadly out of print ....

Watched a load of MST3K on YouTube over the summer!including:

Manos: the hands of fate (so...Manos the Hands of Fate...)

Inavasion of the Neptune Men (soooo boring. The bots were the only thing stopping from turning off)

Rocketship X-1 (Boom chug a lugga lugga....)

Gamera (and kenny...)

So. frakking. funny!!!! (and i'm more of a mike fan...) That and the theme tune gets stuck in your head so easily.

So sad it had too end Still got so many classic moment.

I have an ex-boyfriend who has, not only the box sets but also the individual episodes they don't sell anymore.

Anyone else have some of those they would be willing to burn?

Don't make faces.

MST3K never aired in Canada, so I've only seen two episodes ever; the movie and "Santa Clause Conquers the Martians," which I happened across many years ago when my family was vacationing in the US.

I keep meaning to pick up DVDs, but they don't seem to be available in Canada either, and all the ones I find stateside cost over $50.

I'm a big fan of the show but it draws even more blank looks when you say you're a fan than Firefly in the UK - it only aired in the earlier days of satellite TV and on Sci-Fi when few watched it.

It's always the simple jibes that hit the best - witness Tom's desperate cry of "END!" at the Mole People.
