SPONGEWORTHY

I'm new to the show. I missed it the first time around. I don't remember hearing anything about it. A couple of weeks ago, I was out of town on work and decided to rent a movie. I usually rent Sci-Fi when my wife isn't around since she doesn't like it. So I rented Serenity. I had remembered the advertisements for it. It was a great movie so I checked out the extras on the DVD. Well, they talked about the show?!? What show?!? So I did some searching and they have released the series on DVD too. "I'm there" I said. I'm hooked. A little late though. I certainly wish the series would have continued.

Anyway that's my story and I'm glad to have the Serenity.

Welcome, Spongeworthy! Make yourself at home.

I laughed when I came accross two very confused guys looking at a Firefly DVD a while back.

"Yeah! Cuz... he was in it... and she was in it... and he was in it... and isn't she that other one that was in it too?"

Yes, I was a good little browncoat and explained it to them. I don't know if they bought the DVD though. Hopefully they did!

Welcome sponge. I loved the movie too.. it got me to see FF. Which I ended up liking even more than the BDM. Your wife just might enjoy the show and movie. I know a lot of non-scifi fans that love FF. If she doesn't, there is always divorce...gotta have priorities

ROXYFREEFALL

Woman, you are completely off your nut.

Welcome SpongeWorthy! (hehe! Fun name btw ) You're never too late to be a Browncoat. See, that's how I hook all my buds and people on the show. I show them the movie, they absolutely LOVE it, then they say (like you) "There was a show???". Before they know it, they are Browncoats. Good to have you with us and you never know, your wife may come around to our side.

Welcome aboard SW!

Don't worry about how late you are. All that matters is that you found your way here! Take a seat, have some grub (I think there are Strawberies and Wife Soup left) and enjoy the ride.

FollowMal should be by shortly to give you you're very own, regulation, perfect fit, Browncoat!

VERSEEXPLORER

Welcome! I agree with RoxyFreeFall. You're name brought a smile to my face. Any SpongeWorthy guy is welcome here.

Since you are new to the 'Verse, I thought I might add a little information about our abbreviations. BDH stands for Big Damn Hero a quote that is taken from the end of "Safe." Now Browncoats call the movie the BDM (Big Damn Movie).

If you need anything, just get on the Cortex and send us a wave. There is always someone around.

I made a web site to introduce my friends to the 'Verse.

WELCOME SPONGEWORTHY,

Sorry I was late. Been a few days since I've been able to make it to the forum. I think that you'll like it here. Grab some mubbers milk from the galley and enjoy all your fellow browncoats. BTW I think now would be a good time to get your wife interested in si/fi. I mean I can't think of a better series to get someone started other than Firefly. Come to think of it I don't know of anyone that's seen it and not fallen in love with the show.

Anyhoo, glad to have you onboard. Z

NEWOLDBROWNCOAT

Sponge, your story is that of maybe 1/3 of the fans.
1/3 saw the show and have been with it forever; another 1/3 , like you, saw the Big Damn Movie and got hooked and went back to find the show; and,
the other 1/3 got turned on to the DVD's by someone, got hooked , and waited for the BDM to come out.
