Okay, so there's still 20 or so minutes to go until the day officially begins, but I figure I'll kick things off a tad early.

It's my birthday today (or will be when it becomes the 21st of November in your part of the world).

So drink up and enjoy, just try and ignore some of the gate-crashers; like this guy.

Happy Birthday, buddy! We've still got more than half the 20th left on our clocks over here, LA29, so I'm sure the late cake would be more than acceptable.

PR - given some of your other posts I've read (and the many that I haven't but you've alluded to recently in the Imponderable Index thread), if you're shy about the 25 kisses, perhaps you could introduce Nico to our other birthday tradition (if Oz doesn't have it): the birthday SPANKING!

To all other drinkers - My fault for not coming to the Pub fer breakfast this morning (this is kind of a delayed cc of what I sent to my whole office this morning):

So, for quite some time now people in my office have been hearing me rant about the breakfast mishaps Toni and I have had at the Tim Hortons drive-through. It’s either the coffee cup leaks, or the lid is defective, or the service is, um, unique. So then there’s this morning (punchline served up by Toni):

Driving around in a Chevy Trailblazer: $30,750.

A Cinnamon Raisin Bagel toasted with butter, 2 12-grains toasted with butter, a large French Vanilla Cappuccino and a large black coffee: $5.95.

Being called a “dumbass” by a women waiting for me to get out of her way so she can drive the wrong way into the drive-thru exit: Priceless!

There are some things in life money can’t buy, for this we used MasterCard.

Nico- Happy Birthday!!!
Here's a recipe for you:) It's pretty easy I swear, but if you'd rather just buy the lemon curd you can:)
Lemon Mousse Cheesecake
18 graham crackers crushed
1/2 cup melted butter
1/4 cup sugar, plus 1 1/4 cups sugar, plus 1/4 cup sugar
3 large lemons
4 eggs, separated
24 ounces softened cream cheese, 3 (8-ounce) packages
1/3 cup flour
Lemon curd, recipe follows

Adjust oven rack to middle position and preheat oven to 325 degrees F.

Combine crushed graham crackers, melted butter and 1/4 cup sugar. Press graham cracker crust in the bottom of a 10-inch springform pan coming up about 1-inch on the sides. Seal the outside of the pan with foil and set in a baking dish. Add water to the baking dish to come 1-inch up the sides. Bake crust for 10 minutes.

Zest lemons until you have 1 tablespoon of lemon zest. Place zest in a small bowl and set aside. Squeeze the lemons to acquire 3/4 cup lemon juice and set aside.

In a mixing bowl, using an electric mixer, with paddle, beat cream cheese until smooth. Gradually add 1 1/4 cups sugar and continue to beat until light and fluffy, about 5 minutes. Add egg yolks, flour, lemon juice, and zest and beat until smooth.

In a separate mixing bowl, whip the egg whites to soft peaks. Add remaining sugar to the egg whites and continue to whip until stiff peaks have formed. Fold the egg whites into the lemon batter. Pour batter into the crust. Bake cheesecake until set and golden, about 55 to 65 minutes.

Remove from oven and cool in the pan on a cooling rack, about 4 hours. Once cooled, refrigerate uncovered until chilled. Add pre-made lemon curd on top of cheesecake. Loosen sides with a cake spatula before unmolding and serve. Note: You can freeze this cake up to 1 month.

3 extra-large or 4 regular egg yolks, strained through a sieve
1 lemon, zested
1/3 cup lemon juice
1/2 cup sugar
1/3 cup unsalted butter, cut into pieces

Over medium heat whisk to combine yolks, zest, lemon juice and sugar in a 1 quart saucepan.

Cook for approximately 8 minutes until the mixture thickens and looks smooth. Remove saucepan from heat and add butter, one piece at a time with a wooden spoon until it is fully incorporated. Pour mixture into a bowl and put plastic directly on top of mixture.

Let cool on counter then refrigerate

Mighty fine shindig we had yesterday for Nico, and it was good to see JP join up at the end. Looks like some cleaning is necessary.

*punches the controls for the cleaning robots, waits a few minutes, then kicks the computer that controls them.

*goes behind to bar to get the broom and dustpan, stopping to pull a cold pint of Killian's on his way

*lights up, sweeping streamers and other assorted decorations up off of the floor, trying to make it at least a little tidy for when the proprietors show up

Morning RIMG .Thanks for cleaning up.Very thoughtful.

LA29 lights some strawberry scented candles to clean out the fumes from last night.And then puts up a pot of the good stuff .

I brought chinese rolls from the bakery down the block.There's roasted pork ,egg & cheese , custard ( my favorite ) and plain.All very yummy choices.And some Dim Sum too for the more adventurous.

It looks like it's going to be a beautiful day .

Strawberry is a good scent, but what is your favorite ??

I prefer sandalwood, and nag champa. I actually have some Sandalwood-Rose aromatherapy lotion from Bath & Body works that completely kicks ass. I also like anything vanilla.
