I haven't been back here in a while, because there really wasn't anything new I thought I could learn... but Allah/Buddha/Vishnu/Jesus/L.Ron Hubbard willing, maybe the cast still reads. Maybe Joss still reads.

Don't spoil my illusion.

Dear Joss,

You're a busy man. But you're such a magnificent human being that you're actually reading these, so I have but three simple questions for you, in ascending order of importance:

1) Wonder Woman. What's the hold up? Is it you, or the producers? Have you explained to them how awesome you are?

2) Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip. As great writers are drawn to great writing, you must therefore enjoy the hell out of this show. When you get around to having something to plug, will you kindly steal me a coffee mug and send it to me? I'll pay S&H.

These questions aren't actually as important as:

3) Doctor Who. When will you write an episode?

You know you'd love it.

You know WE'D love it.

And we (and you) know the Brits all love... thou.

That was all. Get back to your re-writes; I don't think I can survive another "Ghost Rider" trailer.

Quite Sincerely,

Clever Internet Name with Letters and perhaps Numbers.

I don't think there's a hold up; we're just getting new insight into just how slowly Hollywood can move.

Joss has (IIRC) turned in a draft. Now there's rewrites (I know, rewriting Joss is unwise, but the producers do have a say. More producers you have, the more rewrites you need), then casting, then more rewrites (to better reflect the final casting choices), then the director's rewrites (resulting in the "final draft" shooting script), then pre-production, then filming (and possible daily rewrites), then post. . .

Moviemaking is a slow, arduous business. Be patient and trust in Joss.

I'm flattered, but no. If I were Joss, I'd know it. If I were Joss, HE'D know it.

Of course, I'd also read this board more often... *pout*

Studio 60 is overrated prattle. 30 Rock is where it's at.

On a radio call in show in the UK some months ago Joss was asked what he thought about the new Dr Who. He said he thought it was ok but confessed that he had never gotten into Who in the past. So really without doing a lot of watching to catch up he would have a hard time writing for it I expect. Better for him to write characters he knows and loves than characters he doesn't really know at all.

And he does have a lot of other things going on. The Wonder Woman and Goners movies as well as Buffy, Serenity, X-Men, and Runaways comics.

Well that's something... I figured someone MUST have asked ol' Joss about this at some point, and thanks to you for remembering it.

It's too bad he's not into Who, though it's certainly not the same animal was BSG. On the other hand, it's not like he has to learn any characters... other than the Doctor, he can pretty much do whatever he wants.

What a slacker. I thought the Brits loved Buffy more than anyone. ;)

Yes and no. Doctor Who is an ouvre all it's own. Doing it without at least passing familiarity of the history of the character and show courts sure narative disaster. Nothing that a good script editor can't help him with but is there a script editor that would send a Joss script back to be polished? I doubt I could do it. Course I'm not a script editor.

Not as much as the Doctor surely? Or do you mean it the other way around?

How about this.

Rose: So, where are we going now?
The Dr.: Earth, 1912, to see the Titanic sail.
Rose: Are we going to stop it from sailing?
The Dr.: No... we are going to be passengers.
Rose: What!!!!
The Dr.: Don't worry you'll love it.

Tardis slows and stops. The Dr. and Rose step out and see:

Man with yellow and orange knit hat, holding a large automatic weapon.

Jayne: Who the ruttin' hell are you?!!
Rose: Or maybe not.

Cut to opening credits.
