You think you know--what's to come, what you are. You haven't even begun.

"Dear Buddha, please bring me some cash to pay for DragonCon."

"Buddha bless you."

I got cash

Oh, also a couple gift cards and season four of the X-files. Not all my presents are in yet, though, since I didn't get to see everyone due to weather issues.

Just a gal out on the rim writing tales.

Blessed Buddha and my sweet bigbadman gave me a trip to the best convention-that-didn't-actually-happen ever and I got to hang out with Adam Baldwin in the bar. Now THAT'S a great present!

I also got a killer (seriously) pro slingshot and a bunch of ammo for "discouraging" the gorram squirrels devouring all my birdseed. Watch out you furry li'l hundons! I'm armed and dangerous.

Got "Done The Impossible" (yeah!) and cashy money and 20-year old Port (to die for...) and really good cheese. I'm a happy camper.

As for Firefly stuff - I only got the Firefly visual companion (I pretty much have everything else!). I bought myself a second ornament from Dark Horse, a Fruity Oaty Bar duffel bag and a "Love" mug from cafe press.

I gave out 2 series DVD box sets, a "this land" sweatshirt, 2 Serenity ornaments and a "the journey is the worthier part" tee shirt.

My BIG present was a new MacBook Pro!!! (Thanks mom and DH).

My (by far) better half gave me (among other things)a brass Ship's Bell (used to ring alarms (fire, general quarters, etc.) and time onboard US Navy ships). It is just about the shiniest (lit. & fig.)!
My daughter picked out a copy of "Gears of War" for me (Clerk wouldn't sell to her, my wife had to buy it, and the clerk stopped her and said 'This game isn't appropriate for children y'know.') Very true, but I'm enjoying the mahem!

I didn't get any of the Firefly stuff I asked for this year, but I did get a new camera. Guess I can't gripe.

Everyone seemed to like their presents from me.

World War Z Parts of that book are downright morbid and creepifying! It haunted my dreams and harrowed, yes, my very soul.

If you like WWZ, check out his other book The Zombie Survival Guide .

Always remember, Zack don't jump, and can't climb either; but he never gets tired, and never gives up, and generally brings help. Wherever you hole up, make sure you've got plenty of food, water, and toiletries.

I think I need your slingshot down here in eastern NC. Squirrels are "rats with fur" according to dear daughter and eat my birdseed too. Note to self-get birdseed.

Buddha brought me a shiny necklacewith earrings, a piece of luggage (am I going anywhere? not that I know of),and a little cashy money

SHAMELESS

DUG is my new hero because he (she?) is cool enough to use a ham radio. WOOT!

Oh, and LIVLASS, I must now kill you and assume your identity because you WERE going to England. Now I am.

Buddha brought me a loverly votive candle holder to add to my collection (I like to light them ALL), a Fair Trade coin purse with cash inside, a book, Witch Hunter Robin on DVD, and Firefly (well, on loan - "Basically, you can keep it except when I feel like watching it." Hee). Now I'm waiting on those from my parents (Christmas is late this year because of a trip to see my adorable baby nephew (actually, only my parents went - long story) and my brother and sister-in-law (oh, and I know Brian is adorable because I just saw some videos of him. Plus, my brother's awesome. "It's like bobbing for squid!" In reference to Brian laying on his stomach and bobbing his head up and down into the stuffed squid toy named Calamari) AND because of a massive windstorm) and one from my friends (I don't know which one, because we decided on a secret santa since we are both many and broke, and I couldn't get to the present distributing party).

...

That was long.

------------------------------------------
RPG launcher bought in third world country illegally - $10
Landmines - $50 per
Attack/track dogs bred 1st class - $250-500 per
Highpowered assault rifles - $600 per
The look on your face when I show up on your doorstep with a bigfoot - ... Priceless

Yes

I'm still waiting for Buddha to bring me a fireman I was told it might be about a month late.

Guess what I got today? More cash! So happy; I'm totally at DragonCon, no worries at all. Also some cute mice figures and tea and a pretty necklace from my best friend.

Buddha brought everything I asked for, with the exception of the gym bag. But everything else I did get. I got a cordless portable phone with answering machine, a bunch of white t-shirts, underwear, socks (which as a college student who wears out clothes is a big plus), SEINFELD season 7, ten free movie passes (which I'll probably use up over the next weekend) and over a hundred bucks in X-Mas money. And with that and two paychecks this Friday, as well as some stuff of my brothers to hock, I'll have enough to last me till seeding this year, thus no part time job for me.

All I wanted for Christmas was Water's Edge, the Nathan Fillion post-FF drama. Didn't get it.

I did get a little Inara-esque tea set and a book on tea ceremonies. And the FF soundrack. And the RPG...

Guess it wasn't all bad. It just lacked the Nathany goodness.

CAUSAL

This year Santa (*ahem* I mean, my wife and folks) brought me a Serenity ornament (which I, a 30-year-old man subsequently flew around the house whilst making "swoosh" sound effects), a copy of the Firefly Visual Companion (Vol I) and three patches (Lydono, Blue Sun, and Independent triangle-y thingy).

On a bit of a down note, Santa didn't check my list quite carefully enough, and brought me a book with a similar title to the one I actually asked for (we're in negotiations for a trade).

But on a much brighter note, I got a membership to the local conservation club (which includes access to their outdoor and indoor gun ranges), so I can now take my legal firearms to the range and safely destroy orange bullseyes. Whee!

Causal, I can just picture the swooshing. Sounds fun.

I got something indirectly FF-related: I got (well, we got, the whole family shared a present) a Samsung LCD flat-screen TV to watch Serenity on. First thing we did was watch the space battle scene on it. I saw stuff I had never noticed before, even in the theater!
