Tomorrow I am lending out my DVD's for the first time. I'm so happy I will have someone new to talk about the show with but now I will have to go awhile without my show. I was in the middle of watching all the episodes for the second time so I had to hurry up tonight and finish the last DVD.

I guess I will just have to read my Official Firefly companion until he's done...

(I still am very excited to introduce a new person to the 'verse.)

ROXYFREEFALL

Woman, you are completely off your nut.

Well it's very shiny of you to share your precious DVD's with a friend. You're getting a new recruit and that's what a Browncoat should do. I feel your pain though. I lent my DVD's out to one of my friends and she had them for quite a while, but it was worth it. She just fell in love with the show and the movie. Now one of my best buds is a Browncoat! It's just great when you have a friend who shares something you really love. Hope you don't get withdrawls too bad.

Best of luck in the making of new browncoats,
JLin.
Even if I'm not playing my DVDs I like seeing
them there and knowing I can get a FF fix when
the mood strikes.

BROWNCOAT1

May have been the losing side. Still not convinced it was the wrong one.

I know it is tough to lend out those precious dvds JLin, but it is worth it for the cause. Just think that lending those dvds & being without them for a relatively short while (seems longer when you are without your fix ) will net us a new fan. If we are lucky that new fan will buy the dvds and follow your example and loan them out to a friend or family member. That is how we keep spreading the word.

Of course you could just do what I did which is buy a couple of extra copies of the dvd set, that way you can loan out several at a time if need be and still have one you hoard for yourself.

You must buy another set of Firefly/Serenity. Keep checking in at Best Buy or Amazon or any of the other places that sell such things for when they go on sale. Amazon recently had Firefly for $19.98. Can't beat that.

Thank you all for your encouragment. I just put the DVD's on his desk this morning and I'm keeping my fingers crossed. I agreed to watch all the episodes of Heroes in exchange.

I also plan on buying a second set of DVD's. I think they are on sale at Target right now for $20. My set was a gift from my brother--I think he's got a few converts under his belt too.

Thank you all again! You are all so shiny

My nephew, newly home from Iraq has been visiting his auntie FMF while she recovers. I am not sorry to say that I have created another Browncoat.

It'll be okay.

Of course, you could just lend the first disc. By the time your friend is done watching it, he'll probably order his own set . . .

On a related note, here's a conversation I had with my sister today:

Sis: Oh, I sent our step-brother a copy of Firefly for Christmas, and he's watching them.

Me: Gorramit, I sent him a copy for Christmas, too!

So he's not yet a Browncoat, and he already has a loaner set!

I guess my first try at introducing someone to the 'verse was a success. I had a message on MySpace this morning saying the movie was "f****** awsome". I think he liked it. On the down side, he didn't seem to be as enthusiastic about the show. Either way, it was a positive experience, now to find my next target.

I have my next target in sight. I am aiming about 3 states away this time. Got the neighbors about a year ago. Went to give them a set for Christmas, but they had gotten one from a fellow browncoat already.

I remember when I first loaned my DVDs out. I wanted to keep calling every night to see how they were doing.
