4. She's not the one. She's not toxic either. They just don't have any real feelings for each other. They're both each other's fall back person. He's just decided the war is over and it's time to retreat.

Overall, I feel much better about it knowing he's at least considering his career a bit. Cause when the whole thing goes south he's not going to want to be living in the basement.

Jonny and Zeek Ok somewhat confused by this...so according to you we've all evaluated "potential mate" staus in guys we are dating and are merely lookoing for a way to format our answer?? Wow! I don't know as I've ever put that much effort into it. LOL Here I was just leaping based on emotion and y'all are attributing this higher level analysis and complex reasoning...Always nice to get credit for being more analytical than I really am:)

Zeek- So how do you know they are each other's fall back. Are you sure that's still how they feel about each other. When they're together do they seem disinterested in each other? When they talk about each other is it a resigned tone? 'Cause if so hmmm not sure how you can stop your friend, but you're right it's not likely to work. Just cross your fingers and hope the fall out isn't too horrible

I'm just saying that you know when it's right to say yes, before the question is asked. If you don't "know" the answer is, or should be "no".

Indeed, but really, when it comes down to it, if you're going to go down any route at all, you're going to be in for a fight. The emotional one is the one you want to win, because when it comes to "her", it's the only one in play. You can see that because the job just separated itself (at least temporarily) from the fight altogether.

Good morning everyone.

Ya know it'll be a while catchin' up when there a very few one line responses.

Hope everyone's weekend was nice, but it seems there are alot of questions posed by most.

My quick question. Our "team" is recognizing that we suck. Sure we can shoot the piss outta each other, but there was another "team" introduced this weekend and we got ran over. Of course they are younger with considerable more conditioning and training than most of us, but those are merely excuses of a loser.
Is it wrong for me, someone new to the "team" to take charge and teach relative strangers to lead and follow? Its different when life and death is involved, but this is supposed to be in the name of fun.
Just need some input. Please.

Are they leadable? I find generally true leaders make themselves known whether they want to or not. If you're good at what you do, there's no hiding it and they'll want to follow your lead.

NV...I think in every group, there emerges one person whose calm demeanor and strong presence identifies them as a leader. Don't go rushing in all willy nilly, demanding change. Offer advice. Guide but don't demand.
You don't want to be the "who the hell does he think he is coming in here and taking over" guy. However...when you can show sound judgement and advice, leadership, and confidence...that's when you'll gather them together.

PS- Did you see the promo during 24 for Nicolas Cage's version of Ghostrider? Looked very NVish!!!

If they need a leader, and you have the necessary qualities (which you do), then I say go for it. Don't step on any toes, and don't become a tyrant. It sounds like they may need a bit of organization, and if you are willing to do the work, I am sure that it will end up being a good thing. If they buck a bit when you try to do it, back off, and lead by example (if possible).

Why the lurking JQ? I like the stillness of the night, but it seems really strange to only find one person on late at night. Actually, its kinda cool too.

As for the leading thing, I can do it. Some of the guys are friends or family outside of the 'ballin so its easy to catch them together here and there. I just hated to look of defeat on their faces. I liked hearing the self criticizm. On fella really goes Wild Bunch when he's cornered, but has trouble moving with the team. Me, I move slower than some, but faster than others so that puts me in the middle. Guess I'll present the question next Sunday and see where it goes.

Occasionally there is a girl on the team. But don't it figure that she's in a relationship. I never brought this up 'cause I kinda like her, but see her as inaccessible because of the setting and the fact that she has someone. Who else puts those things behind them because of the setting in which we are set?

Well just earlier this year he was talking about how he felt bad leading her on because he didn't have any feelings for her. Now he's using the line "you don't know what you have until it's gone". Since it was never a short distance "relationship" in the past 6 years I'd say it was gone around high school graduation.

Anyway I may just take your earlier advice and let it run it's course now. We'll see how crazy he sounds over time.

It was just one of those things. I enjoy teaching, but only when teaching people who want to learn. So now I teach things like fencing. For some reason very few people show up for fencing classes that don't want to learn about swords.

I think nighttime is dark so you can imagine your fears with less distraction.

DTH- You can train for hand-eye coordination you know.

NVG-apples are yummy. None of my students have ever brought me an apple. I do get hugs from many of the women though, so I guess its not all bad.

EDIT: Hey, I never noticed that before. I'm supposed to be providing literate and thought provoking comments. I guess I should stop posting or atleast not post and answer the phone at the same time.

Hugs at fencing classes? Guess its better than a poke in the eye.

Having to teach or train adults gets on my nerves sometimes. I don't blame some of them though. When we do some physical stuff they get all playful like little kids. So many adults rarely get the chance for "hand on fun" these days with sexual harassment suits and all.
But it gets really rewarding when I can teach some of our kids the same things (trust building, self esteem, etc.) and they hold on to it for dear life.

Hell's Kitten- I think you're tempting whether you meant to be or not..it's really the effect not the intent that's measured.

All straightened out. Got the little monkey his missing work and now he's passing one more class than he was at the start of the day so yippee!!!

See kids are fun ( which is why I do this) and it's great to see the "I did it" sparkle in their eyes. As for administrators and parents...I mostly ignore them unless they are being helpful. I just nod and say "good to know" whenever they get all upset and then go back to doing what I was doing in the first place since all I care about is how the kids are doing.

Anyway, off to tutor now and then if I get luck time for the gym...ttfn all

But the effect changes with each unique perspective. So how can I be at once tempting and not tempting (and anywhere in between)? That state of being defies reason and reality, unless I am Schrödinger's Kitten. Which, I suppose I could be. Nonetheless, I still assert that it is the one doing the perceiving who is also doing the tempting of one's self; allowing one's self to "feel" a certain way based on their interpretation (and extrapolation) of their perception. An object doing nothing but being perceived cannot actually take this action.
