Causal just nominated (more or less :P) the Name a browncoat, Win a prize thread for Best Thread of the Year and I was wondering, If you could get Serenity II(Back to the Black) made, and it were to win an Oscar, what would your acceptance speech say?

And, like on television, we enjoy emotional displays, and toliet paper stuck to your shoe. So clean the spinach from your teeth and post away!

Sometimes the good guys should win Oscars!

heres mine:

I'd like to thank everyone who worked on this project so very much. It probably could have been done with other people, but hey, you guys are great(sarcastic remark to get the audience to laugh). I'd thank Jesus and God, but I don't believe in a religion. And I'd like to thank all of the Browncoats out there who came and watched this movie, over and over and over. And for those who aren't Browncoats, to hell with ya you stupid Trekkies. Thank you.

*crickets chirp*

Either what you said was so good no one else has anything to say, or you managed to piss off several groups of people so much that they are stunned into silence...or

busy weekend maybe...or

Arhhh, maybe I just came up with a boring thread!

"I'd like to express my gratitude for the recent reality upheaval that made it possible for my film to be considered for an Oscar. It's unfortunate that this still-mysterious shift in causality has caused so much chaos and confusion, but at least it's been a positive for me and all the wonderful Browncoats who've supported this project for so long.

SHAMELESS

I'm gonna have to work on this and think something up!
Oh, and I haven't had any Browncoats v. Trekkies/Trekkys encounters...

------------------------------------------
RPG launcher bought in third world country illegally - $10
Landmines - $50 per
Attack/track dogs bred 1st class - $250-500 per
Highpowered assault rifles - $600 per
The look on your face when I show up on your doorstep with a bigfoot - ... Priceless

"An Oscar! Cool! I've always wanted one of these! When I was a kid, I used to practice my Oscar speech in front of the mirror. I'd use it now but, well, I always used to get best actress so...

...anyway, I'd like to claim this as my own, but it's not. It belongs to Joss, the writers at Mutant Enemy and the phenomenal cast and crew that came together to make a TV show and created a legend. Kudos, one and all."

Heh. That ain't half bad considering I just made it up. I should *so* get an Oscar!

Mornin' Out2theBlack!

Did you know the world's most expensive coffee is eaten by this weird breed of cat that only eats the ripest beans and then they strain it's crap because when the cats eat them it supposedly chemically alters the beans ...
I'm not kidding!

BTW, I just had this wierd sense of Deja-vu and then a large glass candle holder exploded, should I be worried? Do we have any black magic practioners in here?

Well , then stop grindin' those ' crappy ' beans and drinkin' the juice ! Weird shi-ite is bound to happen if you do stuff like that !

I was recommending not the world's most expensive coffee , just the best !

Cats on caffeine , that's a scary thought . Probably they run around cursing , and , hurling things about ! Also , resenting the straining of their craps !

Actually , oddly enough , I did know of that thing about the crappy coffee . I was tryin' to forget about it ! Now , thanks to you , I never will !

I'm sort of a collector of esoteric information . I'm like River Tam in that way...

Meanwhile , I'm working on my ' acceptance ' speech . This could take a while . The HBO miniseries , Tales from Serenity , is not even in pre-planning yet , so I've got lots of time . It gets nominated for an Oscar for Best Mini-Series , Long-Form , or something like that , but I'm not sure exactly when...

I swear , I've had this recurring dream , 3 times now , that both Gwyneth and her mom , Blythe Danner , were so impressed with me , that they insisted that I MUST go to the Academy Awards along with them ! Which is pretty shocking , because I'm not even that impressed with myself !

Anyway , since Gwyneth already has a ' date ' , I lend Blythe my arm , and we have a grand time . I was very enamored of Blythe circa ' The Great Santini ' , but Bruce was even more so , and that must be how we got Gwyneth...

But I digress...Maybe Blythe plays a character in the Serenity mini-series , and that's the connection...She'd be a great fit...

When I was a senior in high school , the junior class prediction for me was that I'd win a Nobel prize...Nice as that would be , I'd prefer an Oscar...The folk doin' the acceptin' are so very pretty...Me bein' a Browncoat an all , naturally I prefer hangin' out with them...

I'd better get workin' on that screenplay...Time's a-wastin' !

I-M , good mornin' to you also ! Maybe it's those crazy , ' crappy ' cats breakin' your stuff !

When the Browncoat Speshial Operations Par-Tay broke into your place while you were at Granny's , we broke some stuff during the ensuing festivities , but we replaced all your things with exact duplicates . Bet you hadn't even noticed...

Keep the Faith . Share the Love . Feel the Joy !

*looks very innocent*

Black magic practioners? Shocking! Shocking!

Seriously though, I doubt it's anything to worry about. There's nobody here but us chickens!

Wow, Out2theBlack, Blythe Danner and Gwen, huh. You are really dating yourself(as in carbon dating!)1979 ! You like the blond, waif sort, huh?

Hey this is off topic, but do you remember the movie Andromeda Strain?(1971) I was thinking about it this morning, it was one of the first sci-fi movies I remember watching...

Ya me 'n the hubby do like our trivia, too. I'm more interesting trivia, him more gun and history trivia, and we've put a few people twice our age in their place at Trivial Persuit.

And there's no way you repaced my stuff with exact duplicates, NOBODY could duplicate this feioo! And no coffee for me, thank you, tea keeps awake plenty!

I would thank Joss for creating the 'verse, the cast for their amazing performance protraying such lovable characters, I'd thank the people who got me into Firefly in the first place, Jewel and Summer and I would then thank all the other Browncoats for keeping the verse flying. Of course the acceptance speech would probably include more behind the scenes people, for their part in making it happen.

Dating Myself ? No , not quite yet ! Even I'M not THAT desperate !

Wuts Carbon Datin' ?

I've heard of Internet Dating , ' Speed ' Dating , but Carbon Dating ? Must be for Uber-Geeks !

Blond and waif-ish ? Yep , sometimes ! I understand Reese W. is kinda free , and I'd definitely go out with her !

Andromeda Strain...I remember it , but not so fondly...I preferred THX-1138 , Silent Running , Dark Star , and the Planet of the Apes , where the astronauts are floatin' in the Icarus spacecraft . And Marooned , which was pretty possible...Or Soylent Green .

Maybe ' Serenity ' came along about 30 years later than it should have.

I'm working on this quantum teleporter that interfaces with cosmic superstrings , and when it's perfected , I'm gonna blink back in time and fix all sorts of problems...An 11-year-old Joss will premiere his movie , Serenity , in time to steal the thunder from George Lucas...

George will have to get crackin' and give us the Star Wars ' prequels ' during the late 80's and early 90's...While he still has the gift for story...
