I think it's lovely. Now it's title on the other hand is waaay obnoxious...

I am so far past my bedtime it's not even funny. Sleep well my little friend whenever you decide to go to bed. And beware of the attack beds. They seem to be everywhere. The night crew should be here soon so you won't be alone too long I hope.

WHITEFALL

Lol, i dont think i've ever been this close to the top of a thread before!

Anyhoo, I just wanted to say that I think NV has an awesome philosophy and I wish him luck with it. I can only hope I do the same.

I learned that there's a word I really identify with, wanderlust, meaning the urge to travel... Tho its not so much to travel as to venture forth without knowing that each step forward will be a step back in order to go 'home'. And I recently started learning a song called "The Vagabond" which creepily parallels this idea. Nice song based on a Stevenson poem.

And MSG and Neko, I gotta admit i've never heard teaching sold as a really interesting job.... huh. Maybe being in school colors my opinions hehe.

Hi, Whitefall,
I agree NV "has an awesome philosophy." It's amazing that those local girls haven't scooped him up, yet. It sounds like you're on the right track. We can get a wanderlust for the spiritual journey as well as the physical journey.

I have to add that James' story of the broom had me snickering. Watch out, James! There's a wild broom on the loose.

Good "too darned early in the" morning imponderables!

Going back a few threads...I don't get sick very often, but when I do, I am a weenie sick person! I whine, I complain, I whine... A cold exploded in my head yesterday and I can't sleep because of my sore throat and the runny nose. See...a whiner!

DancingNeko, that was so sweet. Chicken soup is the best thing for a cold.

Penguin, sorry to hear that you aren't feeling too good. You can whine all you want. Take some cold tabs, grab a blanket, and see if you can sleep for a few more hours.

oooh, spotted a sandman death pic posted a wee while back, so i'm prepared to bet i'm not the only one who reads those then ^^

out of curiosity, have those of you who've read sandman gone on and read Gaiman's novel's as well? And if so what did you think? i've been hugely impressed with them myself xD
and can you place my signature

Okay looking back at NV's much vaunted philosophy of romance, i like the idea of romance being a sense of togetherness which is treasured, but, did you mean to make the first comments sound quite so much like 'i get to do my own thing and she should just stop being paranoid'? ^_~

Top of the "IIIIIITTTTT'SSSSSSS FFFRRRIIIIIIDDDDAAAAAYYYYYY!!!!!" morning to ya Penguie! Hope the soup did the trick! Hope the feather isn't from the soup...

I have a gazillion pieces of thread to pick up here, but lemme start with this.

While I was Googling images for another post, I came across these which got me to thinking and that is what we do here after all. It's new packaging for common grocery items, near as I can tell.

i tend to go with brands of things i've used in the past and come to trust JQ, why i picked them first time round i don't really recall :$

i will admit though, that when it comes to anything to do with the kitchen, food, pots/pans/knives/whatever, i'm a sucker for expensive things, and tend to assume they'll be markedly better until proven horribly wrong :$
i do the same with clothes really, 'pay more get more' :$

I guess I used to crawl into a corner and lick my own wounds but these days I am more likely to take something for it and then push on… unless it’s really bad and then I get my Qing ren to send me some cyber-kisses

Oh – and I don’t mind being pampered if it’s the right person doing it… you know – hot soup… warm snuggles… cool kisses…

Morning All,

Magda, it's good to see you.

Packaging doesn't make much difference to me. I like quality. It is hard if you've never tried a product before. A pretty package might sway me a little on the 1st purchase, but if it's not good, I certainly wouldn't repurchase.

Hai, hai. Looooove The Sandman. (Thought for sure I had that picture of me and Neil on flickr, but I can't find it. Ah well.)Neil and Terry's Good Omens is my favourite book. Neil's short story, "Murder Mysteries," is, I think, the first thing I read that made me cry (few and far between are those) - I adore that story. I shamefully admit that I'm behind in my reading of Neil's things: haven't made it through American Gods, and haven't even started Coraline or Anansi Boys. At least that gives me a list to look forward to.

I get the reluctance HK. I've met tons of great women but I get to thinkin' the same thing. Except #1. Maybe not rotting corpses and the like, but possible stalker nutcases or serial daters.
And Bebop is one series I'm waiting for a few extra days off to rent. The local fetish shop (comic store to most) rents anime, sells the afore mentioned comics, RPG's of all sorts, awesome toys (Love the McFarlane stuff), posters, Manga, statues and busts, and Paintball supplies. Needless to say I spend some time there tryin' not to spend money.

Y'all move way too quick. Still catchin' up on the last thread and had to scoll up yo see the title of this one. Part Deux huh. Awesome.

RUGBUG

Um, good afternoon. Morning's been a bit hectic my way.

don't really have much to say other than 'Hi there!'

Oh, I suppose I could say: nope, packaging makes no difference. Brand, yes. But only in regards to horse stuff. As a kid I had to pay for everything myself and could only afford the crap off brands that when I finally started riding again I go for the good stuff. I bought custom boots, best show clothes, etc. I've held out purchasing a $4k+ saddle and I don't have a $1k bridle...but only time will tell if they become part of my tack room.

For me, I buy cheap. My clothes are Target or Old Navy. Shoes often comes from Payless. I have a hard time paying much more than $15 for a piece of clothing. It may be cheap, but at least I don't feel guilty that I don't want to wear it in six months or a year.

DESKTOPHIPPIE

I'm with you on the cheap clothes, Rugbug. If they look okay and last okay then I don't see why I should pay double somewhere else!

Penguin is indeed a God amongst gifers. All hail!

*sigh* Gotta go. *hugs* all round!
