Wow, I think everybody should read the section "What's the reason we want to do this for him?" It's pretty moving.

Well, bump, obviously.

But more importantly, I have some questions...

a) is the only thing we can do to help donate money?
b) if the nomination form is done accurately AND the money is raised, is he guaranteed a star?

The page said nominations are due in May of 2007 - when do they announce the "winners?"

Sorry, I know I sound dumb, I blame it both on my fever and my complete lack of knowledge of anything Hollywood.

a) No money is not the only thing, you can help by spreading the word about the effort to other sites. We also are trying to make sure we have all of our i's dotted and t's crossed by having the most complete and kick butt nomination form, so we need people to check over our work and make sure we did not miss anything as far as the bio and stuff goes.

b) No it does not guarrentee he will recieve a star. If he does not get chosen in 2008 it will automatically role his nomination over to 2009. However, with his history and what he has done for the Hollywood Community, we cannot see why he would not be selected from his 1st nomination. Not to mention he will have some movies out in 2008 which would increase publicity for the walk of fame. If by some chance Joss is not accepted by 2009, we will take the funds raised up to that point and split them between the charities we have listed on the site.

Typically they annouce recieptents after their June meeting. So it could be announced around his birthday in 2007.

NASA's Apollo 11 crew only had to pay $7,500 for star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. They did have 5 years longevity in the acting biz, when you count their silence during the entire Apollo program. Notice the little TV camera:
