Michael Muhney, Browncoat newbie, was hired as a regular on VERONICA MARS this season. He was recurring the first two seasons (and had more to do), and this past Tuesday was killed off. I can't freaking believe it. I'm all for Keith Mars getting his old job back, but it would've been more fun to see Lamb working UNDER him, instead of, you know, six feet under EVERYONE. Muhney said something on his live journal recently (there was a link on Whedonesque) that he'd tried out for a pilot or something. I assumed he was just afraid the show wasn't coming back next year (which gave me those all-too-familiar feelings of nausea). I had no idea he was about to be killed off!!!

Yes, that was very surprising! I've often wished that Keith could somehow get his sheriff job back, with Lamb slinking off in disgrace. I never thought Lamb would be killed outright! A bittersweet way to get my wish.

There's no place I can be since I found Serenity.

I'm kinda upset about it myself. At first I figured that he was leaving the show for another gig, but a recent interview didn't mention anything about that. A lot of tv shows seem to be taking pointers from Joss about character deaths these days, but this time it did nothing to propel the plot. He was very good at playing the obnoxious asshole, the butt of so many good jokes from Veronica, and I will miss that. My son met him at ComicCon last year and said he was a great guy, and that's the general consensus of those who were at the Back Up Bash as well. I hope he does land another job soon.

I just read yesterday that the death had been news to him too. He didn't know he was being killed off until he got the script.

I've got no doubt in my mind that he'll find another job. He's got the looks AND the charm!!! P.S. He's implied before that he'd love to be on a future Joss Whedon project after watching the Firefly DVD's!
