I have a few minutes to kill, so I'm watching "A Knight's Tale". Even after having seen him in "28 Days", I had no real appreaciate for how completely fabulous he is with accents. And, this past weekend, there was this big screen next to the queue at the movie theater and I got to see some making-of for "I, Robot" that was chocked full of Tudyky goodness. I am all about the Alan this week.

I am forced to stop watching the film however, due to their hideously bad use of modern music in a period piece. (For examples of proper us, watch Shanghai Noon or Shrek.)

Come now, more accolades for Alan.

Ah! I knew one of our Firefly cast was in 'I, Robot', but I couldn't remember who. And forgot to check the IMBD to see.

Alan is awesome :)

I'm watching it again too. Good movie even if historically it's not (at all) that accurate.

The music doesn't bother me any really, classical music is anachronistic in medieval movies too, but ever since Excalibur it's to be expected. Guy in armor = must have classical music, so says common wisdom. I just grin and shrug it off.

I saw Knights Tale before Firefly. It's a fun movie. Alans character in the movie compared to Wash

I couldn't figure out what part of Alabama Tudyk's character in A Knight's Tale was supposed to come from. It certainly wasn't anywhere in Europe.

Loved him in this. It's called a lawnce. Hello.

But it's not a period piece. Dunno why everyone keeps calling it that. It's a sports movie that just happens to be set in medieval times. As such, all uses of music, face painting, chanting, and sports movie clichés are approproate.

Absolutely. It's clearly not intended to be anything like accurate - it revels in its anachronisms. Hence the music.

And yeah, Alan completely rocks in it!

I agree with those who have a poor opinion of the movie - especially the music part (and some of the clothes, too - come on). I moderately hated it. However, I watched it anyway because of AT. His performance was excellent. Actually, I thought that he and the guy who played the other sidekick were the best parts of an otherwise bad movie. OK, and I thought the girl blacksmith was kind of hot.

Ditto. I love women who wear tech gear and engine grease, or whatever their local equivalents.

And, being an English major, I had to love Chaucer. Strangely enough, I can almost consider that an accurate portrayal, personality-wise.

I am all about Alan Tudyk movies.
I own A Knight's Tale and 28 Days. Did you notice that he wakes up in A Knight's Tale the same way he does in Firefly? Also, he's hi-larious in 28 Days. That movie is so great. Did you see the part with the ladle? I was laughing to tears! Also, the ending with the plant was great. He got tears/boogers on Sandra Bullock's shirt. Hehe.

Edit: A Knight's Tale is on right now!!!!! Ch. 31

You were busy trying to get yourself lit on fire. It happens.

A Knight's Tale is good. I love the main character's posse more than him, although he does have some nice parts. But, the only thing about it that bothered me was William's romantic interest. It was really a pointless part of the storyline for me.

The dancing scene is one of my favorites. Too bad I missed it already.
