8 hours and counting. I only have to work 8 more hours today:) ( In case you're wondering I've already worked 7 hours) But on the up side I have Friday off so that will be nice. Ah the glamorous life of a school teacher...giggle

However my 7th earned pizza so they are happily ensconced in their desks reading their books and munching away

Ok you all have to see this
HOW TO PROPERLY PLACE NEW EMPLOYEES

1. Put 400 bricks in a closed room.

2. Put your new hires in the room and close the door.

3. Leave them alone and come back after 6 hours.

4. Then analyze the situation:
a. If they are counting the bricks, put them in the Accounting Department.
b. If they are recounting them, put them in Auditing.
c. If they have messed up the whole place with the bricks, put them in Engineering.
d. If they are arranging the bricks in some strange order, put them in Planning.
e. If they are throwing the bricks at each other, put them in Operations.
f. If they are sleeping, put them in Security.
g. If they have broken the bricks into pieces, put them in Information Technology.
h. If they are sitting idle, put them in Human Resources.
i. If they say they have tried different combinations, they are looking for more, yet not a brick has been moved, put them in Sales.
j. If they have already left for the day, put them in Marketing.
k. If they are staring out of the window, put them in Strategic Planning.
l. If they are talking to each other, and not a single brick has been moved, congratulate them and put them in Top Management .

Finally, if they have surrounded themselves with bricks in such a way that they can neither be seen nor heard from, put them in Congress.

Hey all, thought I would say hi, since I was here anyway. I just put up a huge post about a thread at Whedonesque that really, really hurt me. I just re-read it and realized I might get flamed for it. I honestly don't give a shit, at this point. If people here agree with people at Whedonesque, then I think I'll be leaving here and Whedonesque permanently.

I guess someone did manage to find the one thing that can keep CK from being cheerful: bigotry.

HUGS CK honey ...whatever they did, if it hurt you , then it's wrong!! HUGS

EDIT- just read what you wrote and all I can say is those posters should be ashamed of themselves and perhaps do a little research into what bigotry and hatred can do for the human race. I find it insane to condemn an entire religion for their lack of tolerance while showing that same lack of tolerance for others religious beliefs...

Oh and sadly I am off for the evening. I have to go tutor:)

Thanks, MsG. {{Hugs.}} Usually I don't let stuff like that get to me (between Mormonism and Judaism, I'm insulted by something said on CNN at least once a day!), but that Whedonesque thread got so long, and it was frustrating that I couldn't reply there. *Sigh*. My family would be horrified to learn that there are fellow Browncoats who think that they are monsters because of their religion, so I'll definitely be keeping this from them.

For the sake of posterity and chronicling of the Imponderables, that post of mine is here: http://www.fireflyfans.net/thread.asp?b=2&t=27352&m=459052

Im not an athiest i just get tired when people start judging people on religion and beleifs

Cant we all just get along???

Some people hide behind religion and use it for a scapegoat. To me people can only be monsters when they start killing, and other such crimes or judging people on their faith.

Hey everyone. Got a new job so I've been really busy.

I think I'm feeling old and bitter here lately. (or maybe older and bitterer... more bitterer... more bitter...whatever I've been up since 5am) The last of the single women in my little world told me that she's getting married. Its kind of depressing.

I think nighttime is dark so you can imagine your fears with less distraction.

Hey all, stopping by again to say hello, and goodbye, at least for now. This is because of the Whedonesque thread, but I'm not leaving in a huff. I just feel... disillusioned. I used to think that Browncoats were the most inclusionary group you'd ever find, but the events of the last 24 hours have proved me wrong. I'm not leaving to protest that, but rather because the spark has gone out of the 'Verse, for me. I've taken my Firefly DVDs out of my DVD player, and put them in the back of my closet, along with my copies of Serenity, Done the Impossible, the Firefly and Serenity Companions, Those Left Behind, and my Jayne hat. Watching the crew of Serenity now is only depressing. I had a crew, the biggest crew in the 'Verse, but when I stood up to defend a Conservative, some on that crew decided there was no longer room for me at the dinner table.

All of you have always been extremely wonderful to me, thank you for that. I may be back in a few months, but probably only to the Imponderables/Water Cooler threads, if I come back at all. We'll see. Like I said, the spark is gone now. Maybe in time I'll be able to accept that not all Browncoats are as wonderful as I had thought, and I'll be able to enjoy the 'Verse again, and enjoy the company of the select group of Browncoats who are still wonderful. But how ironic is it that the thing that finally managed to break my mood and bring me down is not work, or my illness, or any of the other things I struggle with, but instead the words of fellow Browncoats? Yeah, it'll take awhile for me to get over this disillusionment.

Hugs to all of you. Stay shiny.

On a different note...for me at least this has been a great day. After slogging through several horrible weeks ( including this week of the 15 hour days) I finally got a day off. I slept in, made myself a lovely breakfast, and indulged in some major retail therapy! Bough 5 pairs of shoes ( this is for Magda and Mav 1- shiny black high stacked pumps in paten leather 2-blue paten leather ballet flats 3- pair of neutral leather flats 4- pair of nice leather high heels in natural leather and 5- pair of goofy plaid dark blue and grey converse) and then went and bought some lip stain , lip gloss, and tahitian coconut vanilla perfume from Macy's...and topped it off with a trip to get a ton of books and Bath and Body Works for some lemon verbena body wash and lotion and new coconut shampoo/conditioner. Ran some errands too...so now I'm squeaky clean and smelling of lemons and about to paint my toenails a lovely blush pink:) Good day

hmmm wow I'd share my stories of drunken revelry except their not so exciting as not remembering and wondering what you did with someone. They're mostly stuff like falling asleep and getting carried to the car and driven home...or falling asleep after hot tub party in heap of kids in friends basement only to be awakened by frantic parents of said friend at 3 am ( luckily our " we danced a ton and went hot tubbing and it made us sleepy" excuse held up and we weren't in trouble.
NV- face it you're hot, funny, and a nice guy...so when you add wild man to the mix anything is possible. I'm just glad you didn't end up surrounded by 3 or 4 naked women ( though I doubt you're glad that didn't happen)

MAVOURNEEN

hehehe

In college I fell asleep in my closet after drinking considerable amounts of Malibu Rum.
To this day, I can't stand the smell of suntan lotion that smells like coconuts.

Ahhh, the stupidity of youth...

*conjures mental image of NV with the 3 women...*

Back to work!

HOBBLEIT

I don't got a lot of drunk stories about me since I don't drink but I have plenty about my friends. My favourite was when my friend Andrew got drunk at another friend's housewarming party and was walking back to the bus station singing 'Is this the way to Amarillo'. He still swears to this day he wasn't drunk be he was well and truly pished.

It's a magical land of fun and good things.

Well really it's a movie theater/bar/restaurant. They show regular movies as well as all sorts of different off the wall things.

They are very whedon friendly. They had a Firefly marathon before Serenity came out. They're having a 10 year Buffy anniversary this friday. They hold Buffy singalongs where they show a random episode and then sing a long to Once More With Feeling.

It's a wonderful place.
