Yeah, she shows up in X-Men comics sometimes. She's a friend of Kitty Pryde/Shadowcat I think.

If his introduction to 'Fray' is anything to go by, Joss had a *huge* crush on Kitty when he was a comic-reading teenager. Which makes it all the funnier that he wound up writing her character for astonishing X-Men!

JQ - I mean she's stupidly powerful. As in powerful to a stupidly, unbelievably huge degree. She's a "goodie", doesn't misuse her abilities. Well, she was brainwashed once (or maybe twice), but who hasn't been in the Marvel universe?

EDIT: Well, he described himself as a teenager. Maybe he was lying just a teeny bit? He also said that his mutant power was to "whine interestingly" or something along those lines. Can't remember exactly. Must read that intro again.

For non-Marvelites, Shadowcat (Kitty Pryde) has the ability to "phase" or pass through solid matter. Which doesn't sound like much but actually makes her really powerful too. Something Joss explored a bit in his comics.

Yep. She also had a deep connection to the earth, which meant that she could "see" underground places and find her way around very easily. She could pretty much level a building without breaking a sweat.
