Sorry I forgot to comment on the sig TD. Definately of the warm and fuzzy sort.

So my bestest friend Mindy was mad at me for a few days saying that I'm getting mean and that I have gone from a pushover to a mean old ass in a few years. She did point out that some of it had to do with her and her shitty treatment of me for quite longer than it should have been going on. Blame game aside, I can blame so much on other people but ultimately it comes down to me.

I am a mean mother f^)#*%. Though I do take alot of crap on a professional level seems it never goes without reprocussion, or at least a snarky comment to be pondered upon 'til later. It definately seems I've lost some of the supportive attitude or "sweetness" I was once told to posess.

Some people get walked on. And some people are doormats. I was the guy who got his nuts crushed and never winced when it was a friend or someone I loved did the crushing.

Seems I might be all out of warm and fuzzy in that aspect.

Just had to get that off my chest. If any of you take your friends for granted and blow them off/flake on them, apologize profusely and offer to make amends.
If you are a friend who is considered "understanding" or "forgiving" of such things:
"GROW SOME F-ING NUTS!!!"
Emergancy excuse aside (sick kid, car accident, Armageddon)Let those people know that you do not appreciate being hosed. Tell them that it hurts your feelings and might even lessen your trust for them when they lie to you.

I am too old to start growing nuts NVG... I have been used in the past as a doormat and one of the worst examples was a friend who refused to move on from a brief relationship - I listened to her go over and over the same stuff for hours... I would try to offer some suggestions for moving on or taking a new perspective on things and then she'd call me again to go over the same story in the same repetitive detail... I was patient - she had only recently moved to Melbourne and had very few friends so I listened and gave her a shoulder and hugged her and tried to help her though it... the final straw was when my grandmother passed away - I was distraught to say the least - I was very close to my grandmother... Diana phoned and started to launch into 'Any way I saw Blair at the cafe he works at...' and I cut her off saying, "I am really sorry Diana - I can't deal with this right now, my grandmother just died" and burst into tears... her response was "ooooooh - I am so sorry...*beat* Anyway - Blair said..." I cut her off and hung up on her and refused to take her calls after that... she was just one of many - but you realise who your true friends are when it comes to the crunch..

Still I wouldn't change who I am for the world - I have endless reservoirs of love and loyalty and though that means hurting as deeply as I do at times - it also means love and loyalty in bucket loads from my friends...

Carson's party at his school was a huge hit. His classmates are darling, and were very appreciative. Cupcakes, cookies, and Goldfish for the kids and they loved it. Carson wore a paper crown proclaiming him to be the Birthday King and he was pleased as punch.

Now, we just gotta get past his "other" party for his friends on Saturday and the whole thing will have been a success. And...I've been lucky enough to have received several email responses for RSVP. So there will be kids there.

Oh yeah Jimi. Thats the stuff. Georgia definately needs a chapter of Browncoat Man Whores. Seems I need to script a code of conduct, possibly even a blood initiation. Can't have He Bitches of another chapter bein' too prety now do we.

Gosh MSG, thanks for the offer. After speaking with her last night I may have been a little harsh the other day. Seems I need to clarify a bit when speaking to folks. But since she never gave me a chance at the time I didn't have the chance. After telling her this she dropped it instantly and moved on. I'm not one to enjoy proving people wrong but I do like to be on level ground when talking with them. Kinda nice to watch your friends mature just a little.

Oh Mags, seems you have nuts but can't hear them clanging as you walk. Flaunt those bastards. You've jumped into the frey despite the possible outcome. You are courageous. You posess the audacity to get the job done and to do it well. You are mighty, (and one fine woman at that). Never let anyone make you feel any different.

On that note I get to attend a meeting my boss cannot since she is on an extended, well deserved vacation.

Thanks for the good wishes, guys. Actually, it shouldn't be too crazy. My sis-in-law will be there with her daughter and so will my own sister, so 3 adults herding approximately 5 kids is pretty good odds.

I have had a real big change of heart about the RSVP's. I was speaking with the mom of one of the girls in Carson's class, and to Carson's teacher about the lack of RSVP's...and the Mom said that she wondered if not a lot of parents have cars (Carson goes to a Title 1 school) and Carson's teachers said that approx 60% of the parents of kids in the class don't speak any English. Those things in mind...I'm taking the lack of RSVP in a much more zen like manner.
I'm lucky, I'm blessed, and it kindof beaned me between the eyes that it was very elitist of me not to take these things into consideration.

EDIT: Actually, his school just lost its Title 1 status, as more and more kids like Carson are entering the school...but there is a high immigrant population in the school.
