Yeah I hate when that happens...the little light that goes on and you think oops made an assumption there and shouldn't have. Good adult to kid ratio for the party though:) When we were little my mom let us have as many guests as we were old ( so when I turned 7 I got 7 guests)

Funny, someone else mentioned the guest to age ratio...but if I had done that, there would have been no party!

I did buy the requisite and expected party goody bags yesterday. Kids are getting small playdoh containers, neon light up bracelets, blow up punch balls, a super bouncy ball, and candy.

As my house is an alcohol free zone, the drink will be an imaginary, but refreshing 7 & 7, as always my poison of choice.

Well, she invited somewhere among 15 (if I remember correctly), 5 RSVPed, so I suppose that if only 6 were invited, the amount that would RVSP could potentially be 0.

Nerd bait! (ha!)
(I used to have a friend that said the only guys she ever attracted are "geeks, dweebs, and assorted nerds" - we called her nerd bait for short.

Rhyianon is right (and quite attentive!) I invited 15, and so far only 3 have RSVP'd formally, and 1 mother talked to me personally.

It was just pointed out to me that I may have some kids just "show up" so I'd better be prepared for that...

I read the thread after I posted my delirious goodnight... Mavs please don't think that - I love you and I just hadn't been in touch coz there's a lot of going down at the moment... you are not expected to write to me all the time either!

NVG - thank you for that - though I agree I don't want the nuts and would prefer an attack womb I am so touched by what you said - and yes - that is the attitude I had and if being hurt is a result of me giving it my all - then I am being true to myself and i will weather the storm - thank you so much!! You are such a pretty man-whore too!

Hell's Kitten thankyou again Sweetie - you are honestly one of my favourite people in the whole world who doesn't possess a heart - you do a pretty good job of covering it up though!!!

How about we let women derive power from their hips. I always hear them complaining about their hips. Might as well find a positive to go along with them right? "Girl you've got huge hips!" will become a compliment.

Oh dear HK, its not the genetailia or gender in question. Its the figurative aspect of diving in head long with little reasonong as to why. To jump in with little regard as to the consequences. I may be doin' a little man bashing, but honestly, guys do it more than women. But trust me on this HK. Most of my female friends have bigger nutz than any twenty guys I know.
As for Attack Womb, I've seen plenty of women, mothers and otherwise, who jump into the fray in the same manner. But it seems there is always a bit more heart involved with their actions. Usually someone is in danger of being hurt in any number of ways.
Wait. I may have developed an attack womb. I love these discussions.
I give up. Seems HK has helped me get myself all confuzered and looking for that middle of the road emergancy exit. I was just tryin' not to be so serious all the time. Then someone comes along all gender correct sayin'... (Trails off, ranting as he sits in a wicker chair tucked in the back corner of the pub in his brain)

I sure love you HK. Now my minds working off of some actual logic rather than primative observation.
And that's why I love this place so much too.

WHITEFALL

Hi all, always nice to see the imponderablers going strong. Just dont have time to read as much as I used to, I'm afriad.... but anyhoo...

I got into UCLA! Woo! It'll be more expensive than Riverside of course, but... woo! But now i have to decide on stuff!

Ok and now for my actual... well, problem. As some of you may recall, I am for the first time involved in what is traditionally refered to as the dating ritual. And... well, as cliche as it sounds, I need advice.

The trouble stems from the fact that girlfriend (wow that sounds weird to say, and yes, this is La Presidenta for those who recall) can drive and has a car while I do not, and lives a lot closer to the school than I, and whose family is more social, keeps a tidier house, and... does stuff. So many of our outings (we tried the cinema, not very interesting really) have been at her house watching movies, and frankly we both acknowledge that those are good times for all their simplicity. But anyway, the trouble is that girlfriend coming from a more nuclear family where there outings and people do stuff and such, and also having the car, means she ends up on the planing end of our dates more often then not. And that's bad. I just dont know what to do about it.

So basically, how does a transportation-lacking guy with no experience in things to go and "do" go about this whole date-planning thing? She's not wrong that I should be more active in this, I just have no idea what to do about it.

And MSG, CONGRATULATIONS ON AUNT-ISM ONCE MORE!!!

P.S. Yes, i thought it was ironic that you guys were talking earlier about doormats (which girlfriend has probably rightfully accused me of being to most women in my life) and men who are completely blind (apparently girlfriend has many subtle hints that I... really don't get. I'm living the cliche.)

"But, these strong women characters?"

Whitefall, dating can be a challenge. The important thing to remember is that for most women it's the thought about the date that counts. Plan a date that you think she would like. What does she like to do? Tennis? Swim? Read? Talk? Bowl? Picnics? Hike, walk, or jog? Skate? Golf? Look at art? Listen to music?

Then ask her out. You can suggest walking or taking the bus. If she has a car, she would probably volunteer the transportation. An alternative would be to plan going out together.

Well, is she upset about always planning or is it always driving?

Because if it's merely the planning, you might be able to plan something while she provides the transportation.

If it's both, than you could always see if you could find a ride to meet her somewhere.

As for activities, you said you liked simply hanging out and watching movies (but not at the theatre), so think small things like going for a walk through a park together, perhaps a picnic, or the two of you cooking dinner together (if that's within your skills). If nothing else, you could invite her to your house for movies.

Beauty of a baby MSG! All that is needed now is an itty bitty browncoat!

OK Men, answer this imponderable.

I have this profile on a singles site. Several months ago a gentleman contacted me and I responded. Then nothing. Out of the blue a couple of days ago he responds saying gee he is really sorry, blah blah blah but if I am the forgiving type he hopes to hear from me. SO I repsond with an email. He writes a short one back saying he has added me to his im contacts and hopes to hear from me. The next night I say hey on IM, he responds for a few minutes then has to go to bed as he gets up early, hopes to chat later. OK. couple of nights later I say hey again, we chat for a while then he has to go again.

And now nothing, So um WHY bother emailing me in the first place?

I am getting a complex!

I appreciate your discretion, HK, but I wouldnt ask if I wasnt hoping for an answer. What can i say, any insight i can get into the dating game or simply ideas on places to go (one of our friends sugested mini golf, actually going to go do that in an hour) I'll take.

And besides, I think "know" is a relative term :D. Ok, I admit I read more than I post nowadays, and dont read more than I read, but still... though if i recall my imponderables history correctly I stopped posting as frequently a bit before you ventured into the awesome thread, but no matter! We're all imponderables here!

Thanks on the UCLA thing... It's odd, i was thinking about riverside for so long, but now that LA accepted me, I really dont want to spend the rest of my life looking back on Riverside thinking "would LA have been better" and such. Such are the deciscions. Oh well, still have a month to decide.

And Chris, good to hear that you're still flying.

Since when is Tristian an asshole? I'm confused. Friends are people...people are fickle. It's just how we humans are. ~Love Also sometimes people, friends, humanoids are just .

Okay here goes. I broke up with my guy yesterday. I have yet to feel bad. Am I defective? Shouldn't there be something? We were friends for seven years before this.

Funny how fickle people can be sometimes with friendships.
Seems most are aware of what happened...so I am here if you have something to say. If not here, PM me or email me...y'all should know how to get in touch. I don't play here too much anymore and the notification to posts seems to be on the fritz. I'll check back a few times.

O.O

I'm skeered.

Couple of side notes while I am here.

MSG, congrats on the niece! She's gorgeous!

CMH, damn, good to see you back around, even if for only a little while. Stay well and safe.

Hey everybody!!
Why haven't I been on here in so long? I really haven't forgotten all of you!

It'll take a while for me to kinda catch up all the way, but I've read some of it. Beautiful baby niece MSG!!

Not much has really been going on with me, unless you count the endless drudgery of high school, and learning to drive which is not fun at all...I guess it's just not left as much time for computering ( Can I use computer as a verb?) I hope I'll be able to get on and talk some more now!

Heh - I am pure Romulan - but in a much more warm and fuzzy way! Way emotional - I certainly wear my heart on my sleeve!!

Hey DTH!! I have just realised that I am turning into a full blown hippie myownself - I am getting all organic and herbal and carrying a bag which has 'This Sacred Earth' written on it! I think I need to spend some time bonding with my established hippie sister!!

Hey you! Please don't get upset - you are way too defensive - wait until someone actually turns up on your doorstep with a weapon before you turn on them!! People still love you and they just seem to think that threatening to hurt you is a way of making me feel better... which by the way - thank you all for the threats of decaptiation, disection, fail-safe murder plots, hiding the body somewhere in Alabama, kicking, punching, several offers of personal arson resulting in GBH and some rather unfortunate infestations of fleas... but Tristan is still my friend and now that we are clear on that, it is time to let it go... I mean we've all vented and you've been wonderful - real browncoat family and all that - but Tristan is part of that family and he is still very precious to me - his friendship means more to me than any romantic relationship...

And thank you all for the endless love and hugs and care and support - I am so healthy and relaxed and that is because I am feeling so cared about and loved!! I love all of my friends - and that includes Tristan!!

I love my browncoat friends and family - you are all so precious to me!!

P.S: Oh for goodness sakes Qing ren... you are NOT an arsehole... would you listen to me for once in your life???
