I like in "Safe" when they are unloading the cattle -

Mal- "ya'know, they'll walk just as easy if ya lead them"

Jayne- "I like smackin'em!"

In "Serenity", when Mal says to the fed, "I've given Jayne here the job of finding out how much you told the feds."

Then Jayne pulls his knife and says, "He was. . .nonspecific as to how."

My second favorite Jayne lines are actually the few lines he 'interjects' during Mal's conversation with Badger during "Shindig."

"Excuse me" (Taking Mal's potently alcoholic drink)

"Hurt our feelings"

"What happened. . .he see your face?"

And my favorite, "Pretentious?"

Now. . .that look Mal gives Jayne. . .was that a "Jayne. . .please stop helping." look or was it a "Where the hell did you learn that word?" look?

From "Serenity", in the scene with Badger:

Badger: "The situation has become fluid"
Jayne: "Only fluid I see is the puddle of p!ss refusing to pay us our wage"

TJ

"Best not be taking it as a suggestion"

In the pilot, when Jayne says he didn't betray Mal because the money wasn't good enough. And Mal says "What happens when it is?" To which our hero replies, with a mischevious grin,
"That'll be an interesting day..."

"Is there anybody out there?!"

[River leans into the doorway]

"Anybody else?!"

Simon: I've never shot anyone before.

Book: I was there, son. I'm fair sure you haven't shot anyone yet.

Maybe it was just me, but I got the impression the money would never be good enough. Jayne was barely getting anything and then the guy said enough for his own ship. Yet still no.

So "That'll be an interesting day..." was posturing.

When he betrays Simon and River in his mind it's not touching Mal, and he waits till he does it without risking Mal.

Jayne: "Thats why I ain't strapping a gun to my hip."
Mal: "Thats why you ain't strapping a gun anywhere."

Not a Jayne saying but still funny

Wash: "Its gruesome, oh and a thing in a jar."

"You see the man hanging out of the spacehip with the really big gun, well its his will y'all should be thinking about now."

The best part of that is after jayne pulls the tape off. When they zoom into his face, you can almost see a tear is his eye. Good Jayne moment.

And then there's:

"Nothing buy bygones quicker than money" from Ariel

"I've got a question - If you've got all the passcodes, why don't you just go in and steal it yourself!" from Trash

I think it's pretty clear that in his mind he wasn't betraying Mal...one thing I also found interesting occured to me while I was re-watching "Safe" the other day. Jayne wanted Simon and River off Serenity so bad he was more then willing to just leave them there with no reward at all..so it's like the money he would have gotten in "Ariel" is just icing on the cake to him.

Hey! Let's not forget the Firefly Gag Reel!

Note that while most of the out-takes with the F-word were removed from the DVD version of the Gag Reel, I believe that the main ones with Jayne's faux pas remain. The downloadable R-RATED version includes all the F-word cuts where everyone f-ups their lines (get it at http://www.uncle.com/Firefly/Firefly-GagReel.mp4.zip). [Note: file is 58MB QuickTime MP4 zipped file on an OC3 network connection (big pipe)]...

Jayne holding Bertha says: "Damn it Mal... I forgot my line!"

Sitting in the main cargo bay he totally blows his line and only manages to spit out something like: "clerped... Mal... jipp.. blacc...", after which Mal stops and replies "CUT!... can't... get... line... out..." or some such thing as everyone laughs.

Cheers!
-Ocelot Wreak.

Not to nitpick, but it's "Vera" not "Bertha". . .but yeah . . .the "Dammit, Mal, I forgot my line." was great.

Also, just for the hell of it. . .the halting sentence flub went as such. . .

Jayne: Knew it. . .prob'ly. . .saw. . .cops. . .and. . .turned. . .tail. . .

Mal: Can't. . .sentence. . .proper. . .

(The next part may seem harsh, but we're good friends. And he knows the actual line. Somewhere in that head of his...)
Just how many times must I tell you that the line is "Oh my God it's grotesque! And hey, look here's a thing in a jar."

"Don't move, or I'll blow another crater in this tiny moon...

I believe the line is along the lines of..."Don't move or we will blow a new crater in this little moon." But I could be wrong.

I love the "can't...sentance...proper..." So gorram hi-larious! And on the subject of the gag reel, if you have the full one, this is just hi-larious:

"How much is that geisha in the window?"
"Chin-chin"
"I do hope that geisha's for sale."
"Yah!"

That was one of my very parts. I also like the one for the Message, where Mal keeps on popping up again and again and...

Thanks, Static. Yes, I did "Charlie Foxtrot" those quotes, didn't I?

Hey! Aren't you supposed to be on leave? Don't you have 'better things to do' than clean up my mess?

As an old geezer spook who spent some time in that part of the world, and helped get the Americans hidden in the Canadian embassy out of Iran in '80, I can appreciate your happiness being back home again. Best wishes and safe passage through this mess.

Yes, and these:

The enemy invariably attacks on two occasions:
a) when you're ready for them.
B) when you're not ready for them.

If you can't remember, then the claymore IS pointed at you.

The enemy diversion you have been ignoring will be the main attack.

To steal information from a person is called plagiarism. To steal information from the enemy is called gathering intelligence.

Never draw fire, it irritates everyone around you.

And more...maybe later...

That scene came from "Trash" when Simon had Jayne paralyzed on the med-bed after Jayne was injured on the top of the Serenity.

There's no place I can be since I found Serenity.

I've just watched "The Train Job" for the sixth time since getting the DVDs, and Jayne has a line there that no one else has mentioned so far.

It's in the infirmary scene after he was shot by the fed while being pulled up off the train. Wash is saying that Niska's men can just read a magazine, cause they aren't taking off until Zoƫ and Mal are back on the ship.

Jayne says, "These are stone killers, little man. They ain't cuddly like me."
