Quote:Originally posted by Mavourneen: At the end of the day, I like to see a different driver win every week. I hate it when one driver wins 4 in a row, or dominates a season. I like to see Rookies have their day in the sun a la Denny, and veterans banging it out. I hate it when fans throw crap at drivers, but love it when a driver is taken to task by the fans for their previous performance.

Husband is a big Liverpool fan and is currently up in arms about MU being all upset and making comments about how unsupportive the league is when they wouldn't move a game to Sunday.. I have absolutely no idea what Mav, Flyvote, and Jonny are talking about... far as I know they're speaking in tongues. OK someone promise me this week will end soon....

Then I'd get a stack of books and cuddle up on the bed all day reading (obviously getting up to make a nice lunch and maybe a spot of tea)Then I'd make myself a nice giant salad for dinner and watch NCIS ( or CSI or any of my other fav shows) until bedtime. Oh right now that sounds like nirvana and then some....I am so jealous Mav:)

All gentlemanly and polite-like. But throw an insult at me and one will come back. Had the thread started to fill with football talk, I would have remained mute. Had someone stated how completely and passionately they despise NASCAR - cool. Everyone has an opinion. I respect that. Insult me by mocking my words? Expect me to stop being a gentleman.

I wouldn't worry too much about not being able to get LotRO right away, Nicodemus. When I saw it in action about a year ago, it sucked big time. From what I've read recently, it sounds like they managed to make a few improvements since then (for instance, deciding what happens to your character when you die, which, I kid you not, they had no clue what they were going to do a year ago), but it's still quite underwhelming from what I've heard (I haven't checked it out for myself yet). The UI is World of Warcraft through and through, and the gameplay is standard fantasy MMORPG gameplay. The reviews seem to be mixed 50/50, with some people giving it 9.5+ out of 10, and a large many others giving it a 5 or less, for bad/boring gameplay, same old same old, etc. I've seen some people say that the feeling of being "in" Middle Earth is the best part, but given the timeframe they chose (during the Fellowship's trek -- I would have gone with Year 1 of the Fourth Age), I think that will wear thin pretty quickly.

There have been what 3 gay jokes out of you two already? Just saying. For the record, Jeff Gordon is not gay. There was no actual gay bashing going on. For a long time, Jeff Gordon was a very dominant driver. And for good reason. He is a good driver. Fans of other drivers began to speak badly of him because of this. When his smokin' hot wife divorced him and wouldn't tell why she did it, there was speculation. Just speculation. Jeff Gordon is now married to smokin' hot wife #2, and their baby is on the way. No bashing, Zeek. Just reaching back to an inside NASCAR joke that Fly understood immediately.
