While we don't celebrate a Mexican holiday down
here, tomorrow happens to be the Nimbin Mardi-Grass, a festival of the Weed. Apart from the Legalise Cannabis march, there's the Mardi-Grass Olympics, which has such events as joint rolling and bong throwing.

But that's all up over at Nimbin, on the northern/central coast of NSW.

Tomorrow is also World Free Comic Book day, yay for free comix.

no Mexican holidays over here in blighty but because of the way the month fell the May bank holiday is this coming Monday so three day weekend, looks like I'll be spending at least one day doing the traditional DIY but probably will spend the rest helping/staying out the way of my other half as she finishes up her dissertation.

oh to be able to afford pane tickets, have an ex work colleague near Perth I could probably steal a floor for a couple of nights and do a bit of travelling.

But I had a species and everything...

I hate spiders but in a desire to turn this into fasination rather than phobia my research proved me to be wrong, the red-back does live in proximity to humans and likes dark place but no mention of toilet seats (probably only a problem in outside facilities!).

Yeah, the redback sometimes turns up in outdoor toilets (usually on the seat rather than under it, I think). Snopes mentions that in their article about toilet-lurking spiders.

I'm not sure why but everyone has been in a bad mood today (especially my students). Been difficult not to let it rub off.

OK 7 more hours and I am at Bombay House eating amazing Indian food then on to the cinema where I happen to have tickets for Spiderman 3 opening night...I can do this. I can stay awake:)

Em- that's so great your week is over...yes drinking this will help blot out the students ( trust me you will need that) at least you aren't teaching the 5 year old set. I once got sent to do that for 3 months. I asked my friend Mindy ( who had taught the little ones before ) what I needed. She said " go buy the largest bottle of whiskey available" Giggle
