Might as well be, they way they pronounce things. I was just watching one of Joss's interviews from the old Firefly official site, and he mentioned that it was supposed to be cantonese and not mandarin. I think we're lucky it was mandarin, because people mispronouncing cantonese sounds even goofier in my opinion. I shudder just thinking back on Buffy Season 7 and the "cantonese-speaking" potential slayer.
