LADYVORBROSE

I'm watching the series for only the second time on DVD (I know, I know... slow to catch on) and started wondering about something at the end of Train Job. After Mal lets Crow get sucked into the engine, he then turns to another henchman to deliver the same speech, this time with more favorable results. Was that fellow in the movie The Fifth Element, also wearing a black beret? Unfortunately I don't own the movie, so I'm not sure it's the same guy.

PLEASE forgive me for nit-picking, but you're forgetting the crucial part of Book's line, the part that 'sets up' Simon's reply.

"I'd forgotten. . .you're moonlighting as a criminal mastermind now. Have you planned your next caper?"

"No, but I'm thinking about growing a big black mustache. I'm a traditionalist."

Sorry.

Nope, that was a fella by the name of Brion James; didn't get the name of the actor in "The Train Job". I, for my part, never thought that a beret on a soldier made him look more butch, just more....french.

There's no place I can be since I found Serenity.

The actor in The Train Job was David Reynolds.

Piece of advice never say that near a soldier from the British Army or Royal Marines the consequences could be... unpleasant

One of the sweetest things I ever received from a 'romance' was the beret my lovely RAF Corporal gave me when ... well, that's really none of your business, is it?

The effect of a beret is all in the person who is wearing the beret. On a reed thin, slip of a boy, it's pseudo-wannabe-french. On a grown person of the warrior race, wearing a beret takes on a grrrr grrrr sexyness

Also do not forget that until recently when the entire Army was allowed to wear berets only the US Armies Elite units wore them. The Green Berets are not called that just cause it sounds neat. Also the Rangers were berets and I think the Airborne units may as well.

The Royal Army Paras wear berets, and I think the SAS does too. Not sure about the Royal Marines though. I thought the regular Royal Army wore something different than berets.

Berets look cool if they are worn correctly. You need that nice flat side with a flash or a badge on it to get it right. Otherwise it is just a bad fashion statement.

Most, but not all, British Army Regiments and Corps wear Berets as do the Royal Marines

Heeey WAIT a minute. Death or Glory is the Seventeenth Lancers isn't it? I collected some of their kit a while back. Or is this post amalgamation?

The amalgamated 17th/21st wore the Death or Glory Badge as does the modern Queens Royal Lancers (which also contains the amalgamated 16th/5th Lancers)

In my FanFics I have the 21st Independent Lancers wearing the Badge and the quote that makes up my signature comes from the "Song of the 21st Lancers" written by Geezer. You can find it in the Filk section of the Blue Sun Room
