Speaking of the bright side of life... I'm unemployed!

Well okay, I have one week of employment left, and I also have a temporary teaching contract until the end of the month and if I don't get another for after I can temp for a bit, but I finish working at the IT centre I've been at for 18 months this week.

It's a long story but the gist is that the centre wasn't doing very well so the boss decided to cut a few expenses. By not paying me. Since I'd been working there full time for 18 months I trusted her and that turned out to be a bad decision. Now she owes me more than 2000 euro and keeps *swearing* she'll have it to me by this Thursday, but since she's been saying similar stuff for the last three months and I gave her an absolute deadline of last Friday, and Thursday is my last day at the office... well, I'm not entirely confident.

So, I'm broke, disappointed and unhappy. Who wants to buy me a drink?

Yes, we're actually having a bit of sun at the moment too! (For those of you who don't know, the weather in the UK has been particulally foul recently - so much so that large parts of the country are under water and 100s of people are homeless due to flooding. Hey all. Thanks for the sympathy.

Yep, I can sue and yep, I have threatened to even though I genuinely don't want to. Boss' reaction was a) you can't get blood from a stone and b) right now she has me as a top priority but if I sue I become just another name on her list of people she owes money too. Translation: don't kick up a fuss or I'll bump you to the back of the queue. After 18 months of working my arse off for a very low wage because I genuinely liked the place and hoped to help it build itself up I really expected better. I'm disgusted that it's come to this, and more than a little depressed that someone I trusted has turned out to be such a liar.

Oh yeah. She lied to me. A lot. About lots of stuff. I'm really only starting to find out just how much now. At this point my trust issues have trust issues!

*sigh* Someone mocha me up please?

*edit* Ditto on the bad weather. Ireland is no drier. This morning I spotted a couple of guys gathering two of every animal.
