The Best Price on a Firefly Box Set I've Ever Seen...

Today I was at Fry's Electronics shopping. When I'm at the stores I go by the Sci-fi area of the store to practice some guerilla marketing strategies.

While I was there today, I saw that all the Firefly box sets were priced at $14.99!

I was shocked, and more than a little tempted to buy them out. I'm wonderring about the sale price, though. Is it more of an indication that the sets aren't selling well, and they are trying to unload them? Or is there some other reason?

I can't find it for less than $35 online, plus shipping, so this would be a great deal for me.

OR, of course, you could buy them out and become an ebay gazillionnaire!

SHSSAY, not to doubt your story, but did you get confirmation from anyone in the store that the price was legitimate? Perhaps someone put the wrong price sticker on them, or it was smudged and you read it wrong possibly? It is very hard to believe they would be selling them that low, but if they are I want in on some of that action.

FIRELILY

I've found Firefly at Best Buy for 10 bucks before, but it was mistagged. I coulda had a loaner copy for 10 bucks, but it's better Firefly gets it's sale, not whatever item was on the tag. So, I let the staff know about the mistake. Ended up selling anyway (well, of course, right :) so it's all for the best.

May have been the losing side. Still not convinced it was the wrong one.

It could be a mistag, or it could be that they are simply trying to unload them at a low sale price because they have not sold at retail. If that is the case, must be your area, or as was stated above, everyone is getting them online, which could be hurting brick and mortar stores.

Personally it is hard to find a copy in Richmond, VA as every store in the area seems to sell them as fast as they get them. Wish I knew where all these local Browncoats were hiding.

The Fry's by me here in AZ never ever has the set. I asked once, and they looked at me like I had broccoli growing out of my ears... finally bought my set at Best Buy.

$44.95 is about right. I am willing to bet the $14.95 price tag was a misprint.
