I'd probably go with a book too. Can't go wrong with reading Enders Game over and over.

The whole thing. There isn't a low point in the whole story. Ender is getting pushed to his limits constantly and you get to read right along with how he comes up with solutions to every problem thrown at him. It's great stuff. Especially the openings of each chapter. I love the behind the scenes info about the teachers. Though I think these were even better and funnier in Enders Shadow.

Good to know. I'm not much of a fan, but I may be doing it as a book selection this year:)

I second the motion for Ender's Game, or almost any of that set of books.

MsG, when I went home for lunch, Magda was still in her PJs, and helping Ami and the neighbor with the kids. Ami asked me if we could hire her full-time.

I switched glasses when your back was turned! Ha ha! You fool! You fell victim to one of the classic blunders! The most famous is never get involved in a land war in Asia, but only slightly less well-known is this: never go in against a Sicilian when death is on the line!

Ender's game is also a very good look at how isolated the "smart kids" feel, as well as a good exploration on identity, especially if you analyze the computer game parts and his relationship with his siblings.

Hi there!

GrandMav comes to you bearing a pic of my (gulp!) grandson, Jordan Anthony. A fine lookin' specimen if I do say so.

Awww. More little ones around than I can count. But that's good.

Keep 'em safe in all the love you can offer Mav.

We're talking more than a sheet here, right? more than a roll...oh, but, wait one item. I figure if there's more than one lagoon/pool there could be the swimming one and then there could be the "other" one.

Now, non-survival items. Hygiene can be maintained in other ways than from a bottle. I will grant that women will have more complicated issues here so I'm limiting my comments to those of the unisex variety. (IMHO all of our Browncoat ladies should have an unlimited supply of their particular essentials--which we could lump under survival items in this case.)

Some manner of fully illustrated super encyclopedia. Like a dump of Wiki or some such. Or failing that: a copmputer with web access and a Gilligan on a generator bike to run it.

Or an ice skate in case I needed any dental work.

Anthony is a pretty cute baby. Although not as cute, cuddly, and snuggle-able as me, Anthony probably doesn't cry as much.

;-)

You know what the first rule of flyin' is? Love. You can learn all the math in the 'verse, but you take a boat in the air that you don't love, she'll shake you off just as sure as the turning of worlds. And love keeps her in the air when she oughtta fall down… tells ya she's hurtin' 'fore she keels… makes her a home.
