I gota say if I ever broke down and got a console it might be the wii simply beacuse it has so many active games for it. Tennis, etc. Something you can exercise with. After 3 years of playing Warcraft (and breaking that addiction - another reason I'm suddenly particpating here more...escaping the evil that is MMO) I'd rather move and do something that sit and hit buttons while stareing at a screen hunchbacked.

Thanks guys. I needed a bit of sympathy. My students were revolting today. Literally. For the first time I was actually scared of them a little.

It got so bad that one is now putting in a charge of assault against me. He says I tried to strangle him. I say that I tried to stop a storm-out by getting in front of him and putting my arm out to bar the door which he stormed into and necked himself. I don't think anyone is going to take his abuse seriously but it's really depressing having someone scream that they're going to try to get you fired when all you were trying to do is give them a chance for a better career.

Had to put on an unconcerned facade all afternoon but now I'm home I can go and sob into a pillow a bit. Thanks for the support guys, nice to have an army of browncoats behind me!

I get a clip board and when they start to go all wonky I start making notes and muttering to myself ...then I ask one to spell their name so I can make sure I get it right. When they ask what I'm doing I say ( in a falsely sweet voice) oh I wouldn't worry about it ... scares the crap out of them...giggle

No no no! Just because I was having a

Em love..I'd make a scavenger hunt. Give them a sheet with list of animals on it..then make piles of a variety of foodstuffs suitable for the different animals. Pace piles of foodstuffs or pictures around room ( have them numbered) Have students wander room and match animal to food ( using number) and give 2 reasons why they selected that food for that animal. Have prizes for first 3 people to correctly identify all food... then you can have people give their reasoning for picking the food... does that help??
