Glompy glompy glompy-goodness for ya 'Neko.

So the weekend was mixed. I was full of energy that got ultimately wasted with the exception of spending time with the kids and Mindy's son Cayden. We spent the day with the usual kids stuff (snacks and naps) but I also got to watch a movie with all of them for a little over an hour, quietly in my room. It was awesome. All three just sat and cuddled. Seems it is such a rarity for that to happen it helped all the other drama seem a bit redundant and unneccessary.

Handshakey thingy right back at ya Jimi bud and ditto on the other.

Feelin' a bit goofy today. Not quite the "Gwarsh" Disney Goofy but not far off.

Hey y'all, I had to come out of hiding to tell DarkFly that he's a dumbass. Seems HK had to too. 2 out of 3 personalities agree: DarkFly is a sexist idiot!

Anyhow thought I'd say hi. Things are going well with me. Continue to feel much better on the new diet, work has been quite crazy, but not much else new with me.

Glompy-hugs for all of you!

Good to see/hear from you darlin', and glad that things are going ok.

I think the other 1/3 would probably agree too, but I don't know that she has been around much recently.

Did ya see? Did ya see? Browncoat Ball in Austin Oct. 2008.

Though from the pictures I saw from the 2007 event yikes. I'm not exactly the dress up like a crazy person type. We'll see though.

Lol, Zeek, my sisters called me to tell me! I will probably go, though my sisters are both pouting since they think they'll probably be off at college next fall, and may not be able to fly home for the weekend. I haven't started thinking about what I'll wear (though maybe something like this: http://flickr.com/photos/ziggyb/252853788/ from BCB '06) but I'm sure I'll sew something. I think my hubby (a closet Browncoat) is probably in the same "not gunna dress up like a crazy person" camp, but I may be able to talk my dad into being my date. Either way I'm really hoping I'll be able to go.

RUGBUG

Afternoon to all of you.

Zeph...sorry to hear about your problems with the womenfolk and the heart removal.

CK! Hey there. Glad to hear you are feeling better. I don't know who Darkfly is...but you squash him/her like a bug if necessary. 2/3rds of you is quite a force to be reckoned with.

Things are good in Rugbugland. The horse show this weekend was quite fun and unexpected. We won a jumper class, got a second and third in two others and the best...we WON the class I thought we had no chance of getting a ribbon in. Not only did I get an embroidered saddle pad for that (says 'SYVEA Medal Finalist 2007" along with the sponsors name) but I also got to compete in the Finals. We ended up fifth, but there was nothing to be done about that. We missed landing on a canter lead after fence 3, and since Orion doesn't have flying lead changes (you don't stop to change leads you just keep cantering), we were pretty much out of the running...even though the rest of course was really nice. I had a few respected trainers come tell me it was a nice go and they thought I should've been called back for the work-off, but that's the way things go. I did get a big-ass pink ribbon for it, though. I've wanted to do this class for 5 years, so it was very satisfying to do it, win the qualifier and then ride well in the finals.

I also got to ride my horse this weekend for the first time since 9/15. A concerted effort on my part kept it dull and boring...which is a VERY good thing. Drugs were dispensed (for horse), the 'pants of courage' a.k. chaps were brought out for me and all went well. I get to do it again tonight and every night for the next few weeks. Gulp.

Having the day off is good, I had that yesterday.

Did they all just spontaneously decide not to show up, or is there a deeper reason for it ??

It actually seems like every one of them independently came to the conclusion that they were tired and didn't want to learn computers today. Every. Single. One. Which okay there's only four of them. But still!

Assuming STP. Misread, though I am assuming room temp = 25C.

Assuming Earth gravity. (9.81 m/s2, or 32.2 ft/s2)

P ~= 626 mmHg @ 5280 ft elevation

Or am I making it too complex?

F(n) = -mg, and at 45 deg it should be half, so

m = 2.2 kg
g = 9.81 m/s2

F(n) = 1/2 * 2.2 * 9.81 = 10.791 kgm/s2 = 10.791 N

Someone please correct me, it's been too long ...

Morning all.

DTH: do you still get paid even if there is no class to teach? 'Cause if so, I celebrate in your unexpected day off. :D

Orion is 15 and just gets really worked up about flying changes. It's not worth it to crank him up to see if he can get them. He's mostly suited to the jumper ring, where you don't NEED them, so.... Not all horses will do them, no matter how much you try to teach them. My horse took about three months before he would do them cleanly and correctly.

The final was immediately after the qualifier...so I've already competed. I was first to go in a random draw...and that is the class I ended up in fifth in. I'm happy with that as it really isn't the type of class for Orion. It was just a 'for fun' experience that turned out better than I could've imagined. :D

Hope everyone has good days. Stop with all the mathy stuff. My head is starting to hurt. hahaha.

There's actually an error in my calculations, I just thought about it. I don't think it should be exactly half. Maybe sqrt(2), being a 45 degree angle. Gotta think about it some more.

Hmm but a one pound cube of what??? Because that kind of variable can really alter your calculations because weights and measures of items are different. A pound of feathers weights more than a pound of gold because of the difference in weighing system...
so this should be considered...just saying...and I do think it should be half...but I'm really rusty

Rugbug...ah that makes sense. There'd be no real need and since you placed without flying lead change, then why bother. I will say Orion is an excellent jumper from the pics I have seen. Nice form and good follow through. How many hands is he?? I can't tell from the pic and I have a distorted sense of size what with Tink and Diesel being so large...
