Forgive the horrid thread title. I'm not feeling particularly clever today. Anyway, if anyone's interested, the I, Robot trailer is up-- see if you can spot Alan.

Cheers!

Nice trailer!! I was already planning to see this when it came out, but now I'm more determined to do so...

Oh! And I found Alan:

He's the robot in the station who loses his temper... You'll recognize his voice if you listen.

CYBERSNARK

Well. That was. . . uh. . .

Great acting. Awesome special effects. Looked great up until about halfway through.

Great Primus, when did I, Robot turn into Animatrix: Second Renaissance?

Asimov must be spinning in his grave.

Gee, this is interesting -- an unusually low-key Will Smith. It didn't look like he was doing his usual thing: "Look, I'm an actor doing his acting thing" -- like he's greater than the role.

Seems a mite unlikely since this trailer was released just yesterday. You're probably confusing this with the first trailer for "I, Robot".

Harken: "Seems odd that you would name your ship after a battle you were on the wrong side of."
Mal: "May have been the losing side. Still not convinced it was the wrong one."

You're my (big damn) hero. Haven't had anyone recognize that quote in a long time. :-)

I'm Knibblet of the Methos harem and spent a year writing a Methos novel. Trust me, there's nothing about the regal keeper of Nose and Toes that I don't know. He's not the blue-faced love god for nuttin.

FANGOO

What I want to know is when did "I, Robot" become a reincarnation of Escape from Planet of the Apes?

Anyway guess it's time to dust of that old Asimov book and do a little rereading. =)

Along a similar line, anyone read any of the Foundation extension books? I'm often tempted to pick them up but...

OBSESSED

I have to agree; Asimov is probably turning in his grave. Of course there are situations where a robot might kill, but only to save more lives. The first rule is that a robot cannot harm a human, or, through inaction, allow a human to come to harm, so if a robot for some reason was in a situation where more people would die if he didn't kill one, then it might be possible. However, I have a problem with the idea of a full robot rebellion. Asimov was always much more inventive about ways that robot disasters could occur than just "they got really mad." I sincerely hope that we are only seeing a part of the story and there is some Asimov-faithful explanation of how a full rebellion could happen, but I sure can't come up with one that's even halfway plausible.
Anyway, I'm still gonna see the movie to support Alan, and just to see what they did. Hope I'm not disappointed.

Book: I'd forgotten - you're moonlighting as a criminal mastermind now.
Simon: No, but I'm thinking about growing a big black mustache. I'm a traditionalist.
