I am 19, and lost in the woods known as a college undergrad who doesn't know what to do or where to go. As far as who is flying, I am. I just don't know where I'm going. I just hope it will be warm and fun when I get there.

I'm 38 and still get carded (never get tired of that). Divorced, have a daughter age 10 & son age 15. A couple of years ago I went back to school and finally got an Associates degree in Computer Science, just in time for all the out-sourcing of programmer jobs to other countries(missed it by that much). So now I'm managing a small property management company (how the hell did that happen?)

I just live by a simple philosophy. Firefly inspired on my computer intro every morning.

"A captains goal was simple, find a crew, find a job, keep flying"

Helps put it all in perspective, when the cars aren't running right, the coin is low, my stereo is stolen, and I have close friends fighting, and others talking the big D. ....oh and I'm just a little tired. and at the end I'm still flying, not much, but it's enough.

i'm 35. Married to an amazing woman (puts up with me...). 2 great little boys (6 and 1). Only recently turned onto the Jossverse (last September), and now have seen everything to date (buffy, angel, firefly, etc.).

Just found Firefly last month and bought the DVD set. Immediately became mesmerized and watched the whole thing in two nights. Have since played it at work on the datashow (small open-source development company, so we do stuff like that - company sneak Friday morning to see Kill Bill vol.2), and, of course, now everyone wants to borrow it.

For all of you who feel like you are still searching...don't worry. That's the "normal" adult state. It just gets weirder as you get older. (I mean, really! Hair on your ears. THAT'S weird!)

WHEDONESQUE

I'm 33, single and work as a critical care travel nurse. The 'cirtical care' part means I take care of the REALLY sick patients, of course. The 'travel' part of the description means that I have finally found a job that fits my nomad personality. I take short-term contracts (usually 3-6 months) at different hospitals around the country (internationally, too). I have just discovered the firefly meetups and look forward to taking advantage of them to get to know firefly fans in whatever city I happen to find myself in.

As for who is flying this ship, I'm pretty sure it's me. However, the pilot is just one member of the team. I couldn't make it without the rest of my crew (and the various passengers I have flown with throughout the years) and I wouldn't want to.

As for being lost after college, I also experienced that. Thank goodness I found nursing - a career that is challenging, rewarding, and pushes me to grow everyday. I don't think nursing is for everyone, but I do think it is one of the most difficult and most fulfilling careers on the planet.

My humble advice to those who are feeling a bit directionless - move to a new city, take a class you have always been interested in, do some volunteer work, get a 2nd (very different) job, talk to strangers about their careers ... Keep your eyes and your mind open and you will find what you are looking for.

Noooo! Once you hit the second semester of college the fun newness falls off and all you want to do is go back to high school. Once I figured out that this is more work than I had ever done in my life, the fun away from home aspect of college went bye bye out the window. I swear to god, on a daily basis I wish I could go back and repeat the fifth grade.

Other than the out of control feeling that impending finals gives you I know pretty much where I’m going…seeing as how not just three days ago I declared my major. WEEEE!!! Go Me!! *is very excited bout this*

Your looking at a future psychologist--in theory, in the future I will be able to discern why it is that we have all fallen so very hard for a simple TV show. For now all I am qualified to say is this: Ohhhh, pretty shiny picture. Picture make sound. Picture good. Foamy.

And who is driving this thing? I’m a psychology major not a philosophy major!

Yep, still 19. unhun, still.

That's pretty much it now adays for most people. It's the reason why I think reality TV is so popular. Now all you have to do is prove it. Hopefully you can also prove that it causes a drop in IQ and then maybe we could get a ban on that crap.

this won't make a whole lot of sense but come 20-30 years later it might. My pa told me this once when I was real young in high school and I asked him, he told me, I promptly forgot until last year.

But after 25 years old, you don't really care how old you are and you stop counting - except when everyone older than you and younger than you are getting the promotions - and you say to them "Hey , I know plenty about that". After awhile, your mind feel exactly the same as you were when you were 18-25 - but your body (and the whole world) goes to crap. You don't feel depressed or bitter about it. It just is and you just realize that you haven't changed much, you still want to eat, dance, drink, party and play the same - just your body says "No way, buddy".

So me, I am 25, but who's counting. In my mind, I am always 25 til the day they nail my coffin shut. Then we start counting all over again. ;-)

Lots of fun - I work with plasma physics, hypersonics, microtechnology, and electric propulsion - yes, I'm a rocket scientist.
