With the introduction of Summer's character on the latest "Terminator" series on FOX and the prequel of Star Trek looming in the next year's future: should Summer be considered as a possible candidate for a Vulcan?

We(as Sci-Fi fans)have to admit that the Rocky XXX predictions of SNL equal the number of Star Treks that there may be in our future. Summer's attitude and abilities make her a terrific choice as a Vulcan. My statement is this: You Live Long and Prosper Girl!

Why did guys order a dead-guy for?

Not a very big Star Trek fan. TNG was good TV but most of the rest is way too cheesy for my tastes. That being said I can see her playing a Vulcan, though not sure if it will ever happen.

By the by is the c on your keyboard stuck or did you just forget it? No worries, just hope your ready for the Trekkies to come and beat you up. They go postal over stuff like this sometimes.

Yeah, Trekkies are scary.

Summer as a Vulcan. . . I dunno. I think she's too expressive. Which also rules out Andorians (similarly unexpressive in the facial area).

She's a bit too petite to be a convincing Orion (much as we'd all love to dress her in revealing clothes, paint her green, and get her to dance for us).

I don't think we want her buried in alien makeup, so no Ferengi, Cardassians, Klingons, Xindi, Founders, or other "Westmoreans."

Might make a good Bajoran, though; she can do that "can't decide whether to laugh at you or tear your head off" annoyed look that so characterizes Bajoran females.

Ooh, or a Vorta --I'm sure she can pull off "smarmy, egotistical, and dishonest." Shades of her Badger impersonation in "Shindig."

haven't heard anything on that one. Although filming has already started for it. If it were to happen I'd imagine the details would surface pretty soon.

I don't think it was implied that she was in the next movie. Only that she might make a good Vulcan in a future film. If I'm not mistaken all of the casting has been done and announced already anyway.

I think she could probably do it, although (as stated) she is much too expressive to be completely suitable for a Vulcan role.

Personally I hope she doesn't. Nothing against ST but I wouldn't want to see her in that franchise. I would much prefer Terminator to be a big success and then for her to be offered more dramatic roles, some down-to-earth, meaty roles. SciFi is great but it is very easy to be typecast, or stuck within the genre.
Let's face it though, I'll be happy as long as she keeps making somthing on any type of screen.

As much as I'd love to see her anywhere, I'd hate to see her in a role where we wouldn't get to see that enchanting smile...

Well...
I was just trying to put forth a theory. It seems that Star Trek will go way beyond our lifetimes. As to emotional range I think Summer rocks...on Firefly she managed a schizo-phrenic so convinceingly that it was an adventure to watch her. That is so rare in a pure dancer that it was exciting, riveting and made me come back to watch. The way that all who have responded suggests that I was not too far off the mark.
As to spelling, I can only defend myself in the fact that Vulcan may be an alliterative language. (e.g.: colour/color;lift/elevator; pull-on/ pullover/sweater; Czar/Tsar/Ctsar/Tzar)Only the Vulcans know for sure.

...a Swhat?

I forgot to explain: I was six when the original Star Trek aired. I grew up believing the "military space-exploration theories." Granted that even the producers explained the "warp-theory" as being the "speed of plot." However, if Summer can be a convincing robot on this new series then perhaps she could embue a convincing character torn by emotions but not allowed to express them. It would be a challenge though one that I think that she would pull off admirably. Vulcan does not necessarily mean devoid of emotion but of emotion repressed.

I don't have a lot of options at this juncture.

Whatever she's in, I'll watch it. Period. I can totally see her with pointy ears. She'd look sorta elven, which would be cool.
