This is so not the year of Zeek. I got the laptop finally. Yay! Now I get to work on challenging my craptacular yearly review for 2007. I "need improvement". Which is funny considering all the team leads in my area were like "you?!?". OK it's not all that funny. More annoying and infuriating.

Get ahold of FLT, she is doing some "contract" work for me, and the reviewer fits the profile.

This is likely to be a very quiet thread today.

NvG, I loved the NPH quotation. :)

Here's a fun thought for y'all to ponder.

Lunch Break sex, do you prefer it to actually eating lunch? Discuss.

I don't think that you needed to point it out, HK, but I'm sure it wouldn't hurt to let people know.

Is it bad that having to do extra work to fight my bad review is the main reason I don't like it?

This depends very much on both the sex and the lunch on offer. But I'm more likely to go with the calorie burning fun.

Another match made in the 'verse. Good stuff. :D

Let's see:

IMO, bad reviews on good employees often go hand-in-hand with not wanting to offer a decent raise. So, Zeek, if you're a good employee, I'm guessing they don't want to have to give you a decent raise.

Also, I tried the dead car/no brakes/no steering thing this morning. Perfectly normal. Well, as normal as it could be as I was careening down a driveway toward a gully with little ability to either stop or turn. E-brake saved me from a plunge into the depths...of the 6" deep water diverting thing-y (engineering type might have a real name for that but I can't come up with one). :D Hopefully my extremely scientific experiment will convince you that there is nothing nefarious up with your vehicle. 'Tis just how a dead car reacts. Full steering and braking capabilities are restored once the car is no longer dead (I just turned mine on...you got a new battery. :D)

I added a little excitement to my morning. ;) I was curious, what can I say. :D

And since I've had no offers for lunch or other lunch time activities...the excitement may have to last for a day or two. Heh.

Basically yeah. It's the company directive. They are required to have a certain percentage of employees rated as "needing improvement". Which is convenient for them because that also goes hand in hand with no bonus or raise for a year. Which goes hand in hand with me giving them the finger and finding a new job.

But there are official processes to challenge these things. I've even played poker with the guy who leads the reviews. I'm already emailing him asking advice. Not sure if he can give it or if that's a conflict of interests. We'll see what he says.

For a complete change of topic, how many angels do you think can fit on the head of a pin? I, personally, think the answer's six, and do any of you know how I get that? (HINT: Only a geek with too much time on their hands and an excellent memory would know this)
