According Nathan's IMDB page, The scifi channel is having a Firefly Marathon on Monday, Feb 18, starting a 8:00 a.m. and ending at 7:00 p.m. Cool, huh!!

May have been on the losing side, still not convinced it was the wrong one.

the movie is not the Series. Only the facts have been changed, to irritate the innocent; the names of the actors and characters remain the same

Looks like they plan to do it in DVD order, skipping disc 2.

Stop whining, everybody. Almost any Firefly is better than no Firefly.

STRANGEBIRD

I'm there. At least they are showing the Pilot. I can see it could be hard to show all the episodes in one day. Though still.... it's not like Scifi has much new to show these days besides a couple good series and way too many crappy low-budget monster movies. I say they show the entire series once a day every week. How about Firefly Thursdays? They do have the return of Eureka and the new series Warehouse 13(With Jane Espensen on the writing staff) on the horizon though, which will effectively double the number of watchable new series they have. Scifi is pretty cool though, just for showing Firefly at all after how we reacted to them butchering the last Marathon.

Coincidence? I don't think so. Pick one up after the SciFi Firefly Marathon on Monday 2/18/2008!

The on-line TV Guide description for the pilot Serenity starts with:

"Fans awaiting the Sept. 30 launch of Joss Whedon's feature film 'Serenity' can whet their appetites with an encore broadcast of the 2002 series that inspired it."

Also claims to be running the entire series, even though they are clearly skipping the episodes on disc 2. I guess they are using their program descriptions from the series run back in the summer of 2005. I like the mention of the "rabid fan base" though!

.... they editted out the word "Crotch" from Ariel. That's kind of 1970's-ish.

Did my tv skip or during HoG, did they allow the word "whore" EVERY time except where Kaylee referred to "boy whores"? That's kinda funny.

I didn't see every episode, but one thing I noticed that struck me as odd was the amount of music in the broadcast versions that did not make it to the DVD's. There's almost no straight talking scenes in the broadcast version..everything comes with a soundtrack. Kinda annoying to me at times.

It was cool to see some of the shots (didn't notice any full scenes) that Joss had removed from the DVD's. Anything new is awesome :P

Had a great time watching 5 hours of it Opie Taylor's in Bloomington w/TD & some other 'Coats. Strange to see them air Trash w/o showing ORM, but 11 hours of FF on tv?? I'm not gonna complain too hard! ;)

Just wanted to thank SciFi for showing the Firefly Marathon today. I had a great time watching 5 hours of it Opie Taylor's (sort of a sports bar in Bloomington). Strange to see you air Trash w/o showing Our Mrs Reynolds, but no matter. It was still wonderful to have that much Firefly on.

Thanks again,

I don't recall them deleting any mention of the word whore, including Kaylee's line. It was there.

Gotcha. I wasn't watching the screen at the time, and my digital cable tends to hiccup now and then..it must have just been timed perfectly.

The good word keeps on spreading. While the marathon was on, I checked out another message board, ( non firefly related ) and more and more folks were excited it was on or asking questions about it. As my sig/ avatar are Firefly related, folks were calling on me to help explain the series, which I gladly did. Several were posting they were gonna rent/ buy the DVD set and the movie. As usual, the question came up as to why such a great show was cancelled.

F*X !

Anyway, it's good that the Firely 'verese continues to spread to new folk.
