I thought that I would make my wonderful presence known. I'm not new to the net or Firefly; just the forum. Figured I'd drop on in and give you all a howdy and a smile seeing how it's my second day here and all.

^^

I'm open to ask questions if you've got them, and if not, well then, where's the chips?

There's no place I can be since I found Serenity.

I don't know about the chips, but we have strawberries, Mudder's Milk, and I think there's some kinda hot cheese over there.

Welcome aboard the best boat in the 'verse.

Well, it doesn't really surprise me all that much. I actually got a friend to buy the DVD's recently and she loves them to pieces already. All I had to say to convince her to watch them was, "Imagine funny, imagine action, imagine... Alan Tudyk." She was hooked.

I don't quite think I am a social butterfly, but I do try my very best to make things work. I do hit the ground running, as it were, and I don't stop until I've got it all. Maybe it is the Browncoat way, maybe I'm just crazy. At least one of us is relaxed, though.

Glad that you think the site is shiny, it did take me the better part of two weeks to get it all figured out. The planets... gah, that took the longest. I've been thinking that I might post my theories on the solar system here and get some feedback on it. But yeah - crazy stuff. It's more of a hobby than a labor of love, since the stuff that is my labor of love is a bit more tangible, as in, dance, as in, I work really hard at other things too.

Aw, there was more food than that mentioned in Firefly! Like, what about tea and dumplings? Jayne mentions in the BDM that since River is a killer woman that they should be serving her tea and dumplings. I like dumplings.... :D But beer and cheese and chips, I think I'll be fine for now.

Welcome home, meimei. I think you're #30928 to sign on here on the shiniest ship in the FlyVerse. I've seen you around elsewhere, yes?

You've been offered the traditional newbie snack
already but haven't been invited up to the galley
to question the buffet.

Mangos! Pineapples! Fresh bao. Shimmerwine
fountain. Cider. Yes, the hot cheese and a wide
range of dip-ables. Shrimp and stuff. Wife soup.

Ice-planets are in the bottom shelf of the cooler,
and you'll be thrilled to know that I've just
brought back a new batch of 'em in all the most
popular flavors.

Somebody must be on coat duty and will fit you
soon (not my job :;-p)

Thank you for spreading the FF love!

Join us in the Caption threads. Pleeeeease.

Shiny, straight to the buffet table. Good to know that there's good food along with good folk.

About ice planets, anyone ever figure what they were? Ice cream, or...? I'd be tempted to see if anyone could actually make them. That'd be real shiny.

As for a coat, I'd love to get a nice brown leather for real, a duster with a collar, something nice with pockets. Can't find those cheap much.

^^

As for being around, I decided to jump straight in feet first and just start posting. You might have seen me elsewhere, true.

What about them cucumber sandwiches Jayne was scarfing down at Badger's in Shindig - and wasn't there some wood alchohol as well? Then there were those tomatoes that Mal had to keep eating with each take in the Pilot, Dinner time. Of course some chocalatey cake for Simon's Birthday, and some noodley stuff that smells like crotch. Did River rip off labels of peaches, or peas?

What is a flan?

The term "flan" comes from an interview with Firefly star Nathan Fillion at the premiere of the film In Good Company. Meaning to say "Firefly fans," Fillion slipped and said "flans" and good-naturedly mocked his own mistake with the exhortation "Keep being a good flan!" "Flan" became an in-joke amid series fans and eventually gave rise to the name "Flanvention," given to a large Firefly convention in the United States. Fans of Nathan Fillion often identify themselves as flans.

Thank you very much, kind sir, I couldn't have explained it better myself.

So, meimei, you're officially a flan now. Lose a bit more of your sanity and you'll be a Browncoat.
It's easy.

Oh, you mean that little piece that prevents me from killing my co-workers on a daily basis, that little shred that keeps me going day-to-day to get work done... nope, lost that a long time ago.

;D

And thanks, now I know what a flan is. I'll keep that bit in mind.

You know our secret language now - we cannot let you leave with this sacred knowledge. You are therefore doomed to float through the black on this ghost ship forever, like the rest of us lost souls. But she's pretty shindig-ish as far as ghost ships go, so it's okay.

Hehe, that's fun to say out loud, "shindig-ish".
