Okay, so here you are in the Firefly 'verse. You've got yourself a lil patch of land and some herd. Or say, you've found yourself in possession of a sweet lil flying machine.

What will you name your ranch or ship? What do you call your gun?

I'm going to call my ship, "Potential". My ranch, she'll be called "Slander" and the brand will be a cool Sl combo.

My gun ... why I think I'll call her "Honeycakes".

GUNHAND

Hmmm, well I work on a ranch and I've been trying to get them to change the name to "Serenity Valley Ranch" but until the guy that founded it (and then sold it to my boss) dies appearently renaming's in bad form, and putting Rid o' Rat in his coffee so as to be able to rename it is appearently in worse form so I'm stuck on the ranch as it is...

Now my guns are named.

I bought new work ones recently, the Winchester 94 is named "Vera" and the Ruger .357 is just "Big Damn Gun." None of my other current guns are named but in the past I used a Remington 700 I named "Phyllis Driller"...hey I was young so it was whacky fun.

If I had a spaceship, Firefly class I'd name it Succulent Berries. Just to confuse the hell out of the Alliance, well and everyone else for that matter.

I saw the Pneumatic Princess comment in one of the articles about the Blackpool meet, and I was laughing so hard I cried.

If I ever decide to put a lift on my Jeep, I'm gonna rename it Pneumatic Princess in honor of that. Because it's hi-lerious.

You can name it This Ranch, just don't try slipping This Land in there or Jefé Hat will be on you like a man in a very fine hat on another man...or something.

Ya'know, Knibbet, I have been putting together a few names for when I start purchasing firearms (I don't have any right now, what with the being poor and living in the dorms). I figure Powerpuff Girls and Cowboy Bebop are good starting points, so Buttercup, Mojo-Jojo, Ed, and Ein.

Ranch: D(r)ied Well Ranch, brand would be a circled 'r' if it's not taken yet.

Ship: Flying Dutchman. As long as I never sail/take off on a holiday, I shouldn't get doomed even with a ship with that name. And it'll keep all sorts of supersitious people off my boat.

Gun: That's a hard one. Since I've never owned a gun and fired a real gun only twice in my entire life I haven't got any experience in naming guns. I think I'll go pay homage to Riptide and call it 'Screaming Mimmy'. Or 'Banging Bertha'. Yeah, that sounds cool... Banging Bertha it is.

Then that makes me an enormous dork also, because a- I totally got it before I even read the Shadowfax part, and b- now I'm tryin' to think of Rohirric names for my ranch. Perhaps The Westfold, or Theoden's Rest. Ooh, I like that -- Theoden's Rest it is.
Ship? Hmmm....I could call it the Skywise -- he would like that a lot.
Gun? Well, I think I'll call him Roscoe. Heh.

My ship would be the Shenandoah. Why? The CSS Shenandoah was the last Confederate ship to port after the War of Northern Aggression. Her captain ported in England and paroled his crew rather than surrender to Union forces.

I would call my gun Widowmaker as it would make widows out of those whose husbands would be foolish enough to mess w/ me or my crew.

Hmm, Let's see.

The ship (if it were something like a Firefly class) would probably be named The Harlot's Haven . If it were a capital ship, then I prefer greek mythology for naming conventions

The Ranch - Either DunRoamin' (I know - old & Cheesy) or The Ravens Roost

The gun? - Winona (and certain tv science fiction fans ought to know that reference)
