Morning all... working from home today as the small ones have crippled me. At least I got some time to work with my other students
Here is the conversation I had with one of them... he's 8 and he's not trying to be funny or odd, he's deadly serious

K( pats my stomach) " How do you know there's a baby in there and not a snake"
Me: " we went to the doctor and he took some pictures inside my tummy so we could see it's a baby"
K " But what if the snake was hiding when you took the pictures"
Me " well that might be, but I'm pretty sure it's just a baby"
K " ok but if there's a snake too , will you take pictures and tell us"
Me " sure K"
K" thanks that'd be cool"

I don't believe in astrology. I'm pretty sure they just keep the predictions vague enough that people who believe in it take the parts that fit their lives and ignore the things that missed the mark.

It even has a psychological term.. fallacy of positive instances. What it means is just what you said that you find the common or correct things in a statement and it leads you to ignore inconsistencies:)

Not to be confused with the Barnum principle ( yes based on PT Barnum)

Manly answer: Funny People

Unfortunate real answer: 500 Days of Summer

I don't know why but the previews have sucked me in. I wanna see it. Unfortunately/fortunately I don't have a gf and there's no way I'm going to a romantic comedy without one.

Well I'm not going to see it with a guy friend that's for sure.

Realistically I don't want a gf. Cause if I had one I'd want her to just fit around my schedule. Basically I'd only want her around like maybe 1/20th of the time. I'm far too selfish with my time to let someone else share much of it.

For instance a pet peeve of mine is people who want to do stuff without at least a couple days warning. Wanna go see a movie tonight? My answer is almost always going to be no. I've already thought out what I'm going to do with my time and I'm not likely to change it spur of the moment.

I'm also a creature of habit. I have a lot of stuff I do on routine. It's funny because of how much Kaylee has become molded to my routines. I honestly think she thinks her name is the sound of the alarm clicking off. If I call her Kaylee I get nothing. If I try to imitate the *click* *click* noise she'll come running just like she does when I turn the alarm off in the morning. Silly Kaylee.

Well I had people over to play Wii this weekend and I must be adapting cause my arm is fine today. So, I guess that does make for a good Monday.

Though I'm sleepy because I woke up to a car alarm at like 2:30am that sounded really loud like it could be my car right in front of the building. I'm on the back of the building though. So, I would have had to put on something reasonable to walk outside and check my car and do I really want to confront a thief half asleep? So, I tried to go back to sleep but it took forever cause I was somewhat worried about my car. Even though after a while I was thinking "go back to sleep stupid brain by now the damage is done and it can wait til morning".

OK here's my hilarious middle of the night story. So I get up normally around 3 am ( pregnant thing) and for some reason I woke up about an hour early, so I get up and head down the hall and my fuzzy brain thinks.. did one of the dogs shrink? Then I realize the neighbors cat is in our house... and happily mingling with our dogs. The cat froze when it saw me and darted out, but I now wonder how often the dogs let the cat in..... ( they were raised with cats so as far as they know cats have the right to come inside and eat their food and such)

as for the pet ponder: i'd go for allergy meds, 'cause i love dogs (fortunately neither the significant other nor myself have allergies) or, as my neighbors had to do, a hypoallergenic dog. dunno if there are any other hypoallergenic pets out there, but that's what i got.

That works for a time but how long can that go on if the relationship gets serious? Eventually marriage will come up and marriage with two households seems a bit ridiculous.

Yeah I'm just joking about the two house thing. I'm fairly certain that didn't have any implications there. Really I do think it would help some marriages though I don't know what that says about the marriages in the first place.

I totally agree about parents who send their kids away. I can't imagine what they are thinking. To me boarding school isn't one of those let your kids leave the nest type of things. They're still in nest mode. College is a different story. That's spread the wings time.

It'll be this odd flesh gone green tone and it'll decay over the course of the evening making you more and more zombified and it shouldn't cost more than $3:)plys because it's decaying and all it's easy to painlessly remove

For this I got up ... argh I hate Mondays

Went and saw GI Joe yesterday.. I like it. Definitely a typical Stephen Sommers though.

OK ponder If you were asked for opinion/advice and you weren't in a good frame of mind to give it, would you not give the advice?

Several women who've never been pregnant asked all about how great it is ( may I say never ask a woman who is 7 months pregnant if she'd recommend the experience...) I don't want to put them off because it's awesome in so many ways, but right now I just don't feel like being the pregnancy cheerleader
